Kahaani
Durga pujo plays an important role in Vidya Balan's Kahaani movie. The festival is a backdrop to an important sequence in the film. We see the climax of the film taking place on Vijaya Dashami which is the last day of Durga pujo.
Devdas
The movie which was released in 2002 had Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles. The famous dance Dola Re Dola takes place at a Durga pujo pandal.
Lootera
Sonakshi Sinha's Lootera which was directed by Vikramaditya Motwane starts with Durga pujo in the background. The scene showcases the famous folk theatre of Bengal.
Vicky Donor
The movie showcases Ayushmann Khurana as a Delhi boy. The movie which has been directed by Soojit Sircar showcased glimpses of Durga pujo. Yami Gautam who plays the love interest is seen doing pandal hopping with Ayushmann and is also clicking selfies.
Parineeta
The movie was adapted by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay that had the same name. The movie that had the stellar cast of Saif Ali Khan, Vidya Balan, and Sanjay Dutt had shown the classic Bengali culture. There was also a sequence of Dutt doing the Dhunuchi dance and showed Balan in a red and white border saree.
