Vicky Kaushal

Post the Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise we see the case is taking new twist and turns every time and now we see the d#ug angle in the case, and the NCB is taking forward the probe, and many big Bollywood stars are under NCB scanner, Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and Shraddha Kapoor have been summoned by the NCB for interrogation.

Now, it is being reported that filmmaker Karan Johar too might be called in for questioning. This is on the basis of a video from his party at his residence that had gone viral.

In 2019, Karan Johar had uploaded a video on social media from a party that was held at his residence. In the video, one could see Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and more. A controversy had followed as many claimed that the stars seemed to have consumed d#ugs at the party.

However, later at India Today Conclave, Vicky Kaushal had given out a clarification on the video. Vicky said,

“So, here’s what really happened. Karan calls all of us, we’re just chilling at his place. Three days before this, I had just recovered from dengue. I had been sitting at home for ten days, and doctors were like ‘You can now get back to work.’ So anyway at the party, five minutes before the video was made, Karan’s mother was there, and had just put a little gangaajal on us.” He further added, “For the first video, we were all like hey and cheerful and the fourth one we were just like done, bas karo. That scratch of the nose is a normal thing, I didn’t know it meant d#ugs.”

Vicky further went on to reveal that,

“The timing was just perfect, my post dengue look was perfect. The white reflection (on the table) was also caught by some people. He left for Arunachal Pradesh the next day and was off the internet for four days. When he returned, he was surprised to see the furor on social media over the video. He further defended that why would Karan Johar who holds an empire would post a video like that if they were consuming d#ugs.”

The actor said a social media trial usually starts with a joke before escalating to another level.

“It starts as ‘Haha! they look d#ugged’ then it goes to ‘Oh! They look d#ugged!’ then, Oh they are actors. They must be taking d#ugs. How dare they take d#ugs?!’ It escalates so quickly you don’t understand whom should we justify to. “If the cops stop my car and ask me to give a breath analyser test, I will. I am giving my test to the law but if somebody just stops your car and says, ‘You are looking drunk. Give us a test,’ you will say, ‘Lets go to the law and get this tested.” “I thought it wasn’t the right way to do it ( to clarify). It would be as impulsive a reaction as the accusation. I thought it is completely fair to assume things for people, whom you don’t know personally but the escalation of factualising the assumption is a bit unfair.”
