Here is a list of celebrities who called off their engagement:
1. Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon
During 90s Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon were one of the most popular couple in the Bollywood industry. They both were successful in their careers and received lots of love from their fans. They both were spotted a lot together after the movie Mohra. In an interview Raveena shared that Akshay promised to marry her once the shoot got over. Before that they also got engaged in a temple. But Akshay didn’t announce this public because he had a fear if losing his female fans.
Raveena shared that she caught Akshay red-handed with Sushmita Sen and Rekha. Akshay proposed to every girl, she added. Loyalty means a lot to Raveena so she didn’t blame any other girl as it was only Akshay’s fault.
2. Vivek Oberoi and Gurpreet Gill
In year 2000, Vivek was very much in love with model Gurpreet Gill. They both got ready for maariage but eventually, they called off their engagement. It is said that Vivek’s overnight fame had a negative impact on him and he changed his priorities due to which they both parted ways.
Later, Vivek dated Aishwarya Rai after they met on the set of, Kyun! Ho Gaya Na. However, that relationship too didn’t lasted long.
3. Abhishek Bachchan and Karishma Kapoor
Abhishek and Karishma met on the sets of Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya and got close with each other. The duo got engaged on Amitabh Bachchan’s 60th birthday in 2002. However, within four months of their engagement they broke up. It is said that the reason for the breakup was bitterness between the mother’s of two Babita and Jaya.
Karishma was on peak of her career while Abhishek was struggling to be more successful. In order to secure her daughter future, Babita asked Bachchan for financial security post-marriage. Jaya wasn’t happy with this and call off the engagement.
4. Rakhi Sawant and Elesh Parujanwala
Controversy queen and Bigg Boss fame Rakhi Sawant has introduced a new show eight years ago called Rakhi Ka Swayamwar, where she was looking for good wedding proposals. Rakhi Sawant chose Canada based business man Elesh Parujanwala as her partner among 15 other contestant.
Both of them got engaged on the show itself but they didn’t make up to marriage. Rakhi called off the engagement and said it was because of their different mindset and she done the show to collected money to purchase a flat for herself. While Elesh said that she used him to give uplift in her career.
5. Ratan Rajput and Abhinav Sharma
Television actress Ratan Rajput chose to engaged with Delhi based software engineer Abhinav Sharma on a reality show Ratan Ka Rishta. Ratan took some break from the work so that she could spend time with Abhinav. But soon she called off the engagement. As they both are in long distance relation and her health was not doing well. She also believed that their stars don’t match with each other.
Ratan said like any other couple, they both are facing many issues and it couldn’t be solved. The experience had not created any bitterness in her about marriage and wanted to get married with a person who accepts her the way she is. On the other hand Abhinav accepted the fact that he is not perfect for her and want to marry a girl who has nine to five job and could spend more time with her.
6. Mahek Chahal and Ashmit Patel
These two love birds got engaged in August 2017. A source said that they were going to marry soon and planning a destination wedding but due to some difficulties they pushed the weeding. Both of them were living together and started having some problems and compatibility issues. They end their five long relations by calling off engagement in 2020.
Mahek admitted that they both split up and said, “I took the step and left Ashmit”.
7. Charu Asopa and Neeraj Malviya
Charu and Neeraj met on the sets of Mere Agne Mein as they played the role of siblings. They fell in love with each other and got engaged in 2016. Soon they decided to get marry in the same year. However both of them had rough patch in November and called off their engagement in 2017. In an interview Charu said that the show helped her a lot in reunite with her lost love but there was no future of their relationship.
Now Charu is happily married to Rajeev Sen.
8. Romit Raj and Shilpa Shinde
Bigg Boss fame Romit Raj and Shilpa Shinde of Bhabhji Ji Ghar Par Hain got engaged in 2009 and planned to marry soon. But due to some shocking events Shilpa called of the engagement at the last moment.
After 9 years Shilpa opened up in an interview and said it was a decision she made and she was very happy and could took her own decisions. At last she said that it was wrong for a man to expect his wife to break ties with her parents. Shilpa’s mother also opened up and said that Shilpa and Romit had different opinions and their families were different too. It was really difficult to manage long term relationship and compromise on these things.
Both the celebrities respected each other and decision too.
9. Karan Singh Grover and Barkha Bisht
Karan and Barkha met on the sets of their debut show Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi and started dating at early stages. They both get engaged in 2004.
After some time, things between them didn’t go pretty well because Barkha started getting insecure from Karan about his behavior. He also got accused for cheating Barkha. Both of them parted ways in 2006.
10. Karishma Tanna and Upen Patel
Karishma and Upen got engaged in a reality show Nach Baliye and people loved to see them on-screen as well as off-screen as a couple. They both also appeared on Bigg Boss together. But things took a wrong turn and they called off their engagement soon. Later, Karishma opened up and said things are not going pretty well between them and it cannot be fixed. Salman and Sangeets started dating in 1986 and their relationship almost lasted for a decade. According to the sources, both of them decided their wedding date May 27 1994. Somehow, Sangeeta get to know about Salman cheating her with Somy Ali and called off the wedding. Salman even confessed on Koffee With Karan that he was caught by Sangeeta cheating on her.

Sajid and Gauahar allegedly had their engagement in 2003. Gauahar just made her debut and was into modeling whereas Sajid was a popular TV show back then. Their love story was kept hidden for a long time but after sometime they called off their engagement.
Later, in an interview without revealing anybody’s name Sajid said,
“I was engaged to somebody once in 2003, a slightly popular name. Even that didn’t work out and I wasn’t a bad guy then. I didn’t cheat. I guess you just get bored. Plus, I am a reclusive person.”
13. Neil Nitin Mukesh and Priyanka Bhatia
During his early days in industry, he got engaged with his designer girlfriend Priyanka Bhatia after they were together for past two years.
But soon they called off their engagement. In an Interview Neil revealed that, “we both loved each other and wanted us to be together but destiny has different plans for both of us”. Neil wanted to focus on his career at that point of time and they decided to parted ways.
14. Mansi Srivastava and Mohit Abrol
Mansi and Mohit broke up after staying in relationship for more than eight years. The couple got engaged in 2016. Mohit accused Mansi of cheating on him with and shared a long post on social media, announcing the break up in 2019.
