Pooja Hegde is one of the most popular actress in the Telugu film industry. Pooja was born to Manjunath Hegde and Latha Hegde and brought up in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She studied in Shrimati Mithibai Motiram Kundnani College of Commerce & Economics, commonly known as M. M. K. College in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Their parents are originally from Mangalore, Karnataka. Pooja has an elder brother Rishabh Hegde, who is an orthopaedic surgeon. Pooja is a polyglot and is fluent in English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Tulu.
Before stepping into acting Pooja was a beauty pageant contestant. She participated in the Miss Universe beauty contest in 2010 and was crowned as the second runner-up. In the same year she was crowned Miss India South Glamorous Hair. She then entered the Tamil film industry with film titled Mugamoodi, which released in the year 2012.
In the year 2016 Pooja starred with Hrithik Roshan in Ashutosh Gowariker film, Mohenjo Daro, making her Bollywood Debut. It was Ashutosh Gowariker’s wife who suggested the name of Pooja Hegde. After all the screen tests Pooja made it to the film. In 2019, she also appeared in multi-starer film Housefull 4. Apart from her acting, Hegde is famous for her dance skills, she is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer.
