1. Neha Dhupia
The former Miss India and Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia forayed into Indian cinema against the will of her parents. In an interview, she revealed that her father booked her return ticket to hometown after she left for Mumbai. Her parents always wanted her to become an IAS officer.
2. Aamir Khan
Yes, even the Mr. Perfectionist’s parents didn’t want him to become an actor. Despite having parents from film background, they wanted him to become an engineer. However, his goal was to become an entertainer. When he joined film industry, his parents thought that he wouldn’t last long.
3. Irrfan Khan
Bollywood’s legend and late actor Irrfan Khan made his own path in Bollywood that too against his parents’ will. His parents expected him to join their family business. Back in his hometown in Rajasthan, Bollywood was looked down upon by his folks. He even had to lie to pursue his career in acting.
4. Pankaj Tripathi
The maverick actor who is now everyone’s favourite also had to face his parents’ disagreement to make a career in acting. In fact, initially he didn’t want to get into this field. It was when he was 22 year old, he realized his passion of acting. Until then, his father wanted to become a doctor. Hailing from a small town in Bihar, he only knew two professions; doctor and engineer.
5. Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone is the daughter of legendary badminton player Prakash Padukone, therefore it is understandable that his parents wanted her to pursue a career in sports. She even played badminton till the age of 16 before finally moving to acting. Even though she practiced badminton for her dad’s happiness, it always remained her second love, while first being acting.
6. Kangana Ranaut
Kangana Ranaut has been quite vocal about how her parents were against her decision to pursue acting. Her father wanted her to become a renowned doctor of India. At the age of 15, she had an argument with her dad and flee her house.
