There are a number of actors and actresses in Bollywood who came as a surprise for filmmakers and hiked their fee at a lightning fast speed. In this listicle, we have combined a list of actors who hiked their fee overnight and they rightly did so.
1. Ranbir Kapoor– Sanju
Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in Sanju won many accolades, but did you know that the actor doubled his fees post the success of this film? He went straight to Rs 6 crore from 3 crore. Wonder what he may be charging for Brahmastra!
2. Shahid Kapoor- Kabir Singh
*Bekhyali plays on loop on my mind* Shahid Kapoor will be titularly known for his portrayal of Kabir Singh in the Arjun Reddy’s Bollywood remake. Though the actor has played a lover boy in many other films as well, but this film particularly won him praises. Reports are rife that Kapoor charges Rs. 1 crore extra to what he usually charges post Padmaavat’s success. He was paid Rs. 10 crore for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.
3. Vicky Kaushal – Uri: The Surgical Strike
Without any doubts, Uri gave the much-needed boost to Vicky Kaushal’s career in Bollywood. The film was one of the biggest hits of 2019. Thus, how can Kaushal be behind when it comes to charging a higher fee? After winning the National Award for the film, he officially admitted to hiking his fee for the future projects.
4. Ranveer Singh – Simmba
Ranveer Singh has been having the cash registers ringing for a long time. However, specifically after Simmba, he hiked his fee from Rs. 10 crore to Rs. 13 crore for his future projects.
5. Ayushmann Khurrana – Dream Girl
Ayushmann Khurrana has several hits to his name. In fact, all of his films for the last few years have been bringing a lot of audience to the theatres. Khurrana, rightfully known as the hit-machine of Bollywood, charged Rs. 10 post his Dream Girl success. Previously, he started out by charging around Rs. 2 crore for every film.
6. Kartik Aaryan – Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety
Kartik Aaryan, known for his minute long moologue in Pyaar Ka Punchnama, became a household name after Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. After the film’s mammoth success, Kartik hiked his fees to Rs. 7 crore per film.
7. Deepika Padukone- Padmaavat
Known as the highest paid actress in Bollywood, Deepika Padukone delivered back to back hits right from Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ramleela. However, after the box office success of Padmaavat, Deepika hiked her fees pretty much. The real numbers are however not revealed in the media.
8. Kangana Ranaut – Queen
Kangana Ranaut has pretty much hits to her name. In fact, she is one of those actresses who can carry an entire film on her shoulders. After Queen’s success, she hiked her fee by 50 percent. She is reportedly charging Rs. 24 crore for her upcoming film Thalaivi.
9. Kareena Kapoor Khan – Veere Di Wedding
Kareena Kapoor Khan’s popularity refuses to die down even though she stayed away from the silver screen for quiet some time. Her comeback film Veere Di Wedding became a massive hit and following this, she hiked her fee by 50 per cent for her upcoming film Takht.
10. Priyanka Chopra – The Sky is Pink
Priyanka Chopra has been missing from Bollywood for quite some time but her charm remains unfazed. The actress had reportedly sought for profit share for The Sky is Pink apart from her usual fees. She is one of the few actresses who demand profit share for her films.
