Down the list are some of the toxic masculine dialogues which Bollywood taught people and we should forget it ASAP:
1. Amitabh Bachchan – Mard
“Mard ko dard nahi hota.”
The classic dialogue has been a part of film Mard. And it’s high time people should realize that it is absolute bullshit.
Just because Amitabh Bachchan played the role people were so convinced and pleased! And it gradually became taboo for the men (surprisingly women too) to use this dialogue whenever there a situation that persists the same thing.
2. Aamir Khan – Ishq
“Duniya main teen cheezon ke peeche kabhi nahi bhagna chahiye – Bus, train aur chokri. Ek gayi, doosri aayegi.”
Well, I don’t wanna be too ‘sassy’ but don’t (some) guys just slut-shame girls behind her back after getting rejected by her?
Oh, and the time this dialogue was a thing getting rejected by a girl used to hit a man’s male ego to a very bad extent that the consequences didn’t turn out to be nice. The fact that this dialogue is not used anymore shows the mediocrity of people and the progressiveness of minds.
3. Mohnish Behl – Maine Pyar Kiya
“Ek ladka aur ek ladki kabhi dost nahi ho sakte.”
Yeah, they can’t be friends, but they of course can be best friends! Take Rosa and Jake from Brooklyn Nine-Nine for example. Take, Aditya and Aditi from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani for another example!
4. Shah Rukh Khan – Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
“Hum ek baar jeete hain, ek baar marte hain, pyaar bhi ek baar karte hain aur shaadi bhi.”
Rahul (SRK) was the full problematic hypocrite in this film. Says the guy who married his best friend who turned into a girly girl after his wife (the girl he ditched his best friend for) died.
What is this blasphemy, Rahul?
5. Shahid Kapoor – Kabir Singh
“Woh bandi meri hai, oh kudi na chhad ke, saari kudiyaan twadi.”
Yet another problematic control freak of a character! They didn’t even know each other properly when he said this line about the girl and started terrorizing her already. Why do girls get objectified so much?
And the worse part is the audience ended up liking the film way too much, oh and mind you (some) gen-z’s did love the film as well.
6. Kishore Pradhan – Jab We Met
“Akeli ladki ek khuli tijori ki tarah hoti hai.”
At least Geet had the curtsey to ask whether that bullshit was for free or not, had it been me I’d have slapped him right then and there.
People do feel that making girls look down upon themselves and making their caution about themselves for the fact they’re already aware of is something very heroic. Perhaps, it just makes them dumber. It is what it is.
7. Salman Khan – Wanted
“Ladki ke peeche bhaagega, toh ladki paise ke peeche bhaagegi. Paise ke peeche bhaagega toh ladki tere peeche bhaagegi.”
A problematic blog and Bhoi won’t be present, is that even possible? Nope. Salman Khan allegedly said this dialogue just to prove that girls are gold diggers. No wonder why, some female actors get paid more than he does and yet they refuse to shoot films with him.
