Bollywood celebs who have completely cancelled award functions and consider it a shallow affair

 

The internet woke up to the news of an ugly brawl between Kangana Ranaut and the soon-to-be-held Filmfare Awards. Kangana strongly lashed out at Filmfare over them nominating her in the Best Actress Award category for Thalaivii and accused them to be allegedly immoral and unethical. Along with Kangana, here are some other Bollywood celebs who have openly condemned award functions.

Akshay Kumar

Despite doing several films in a year, Akshay Kumar stays at a safe distance from award shows and doesn't seem to believe in them anymore. The actor had infamously given his Best Actor Award to Hrithik Roshan in 2008 whom he had found more worthy of the same for his performance in Jodha Akbar. Akshay had got the award originally for Singh Is King.

Kangana Ranaut hit the headlines earlier today after she lashed out at Filmfare Awards for nominating her for Thalaivii, calling them immoral and unethical. Filmfare also released a statement condemning her statement and withdrew her Filmfare nominations.

Aamir Khan has been synonymous with being that one actor who has never attended a single award function. The actor had earlier said that for him, validation means the love from his fans and audiences.

Ajay Devgn is another actor who does not believe in Award functions. In an interview with HT City, the actor had also said how he makes it a point to never take these awards, further calling them a sham and accusing them to change the winner's name at the last moment.
