After a long break of 3 years, Hrithik Roshan is returning back to the big screen with Vikram Vedha. The movie is the Hindi remake of the Tamil movie Vikram Vedha, which featured Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan as main leads.

Saif Ali Khan would be playing a cop, Vikram, who would be trying hard to capture Vedha in this much-anticipated movie. The remake movie has reinitiated the debate of North vs. South comparison. And, as Hrithik and Saif are reprising the roles played by popular south stars, the comparison is bound to happen.

Vikram Vedha Remake

According to Hindustan Times, Hrithik recently spoke to the media about his comeback, the expectations from the film, and why he has been selective about his projects throughout his acting career.

During the media interview, Hrithik was asked if he is prepared for being compared with actor Vijay Sethupathi, who played Vedha. To which, Hrithik said that he just wanted to do his best.

Speaking of the original, Hrithik further admits that what Vijay Sethupathi managed in his portrayal of the character Vedha in the original can’t be repeated by him.

On being compared with Vijay Sethyupathi, Hrithik said, “When you approach a character, you can’t just repeat what has been done. If you think ‘he did that so I will also do it’, that’s not a very intelligent way to go about it.” He also mentioned that the simplest way to go about it is to realize every individual is different.

Being modest as always, Hrithik further added, “I know how amazingly Vijay Sethupathi did the same part. I can’t in my dreams think that I would achieve that level. Yet, I have done my best and I am happy with what I have done.”

The movie, which is slated to release on September 30, tells the story of a cop vs gangster. While some people are calling for a boycott of the movie because of Saif Ali Khan’s presence, we hope the film doesn’t disappoint movie lovers.
