Doesn’t matter whether you are a Shah Rukh Khan fan or not, you just couldn’t deny that this man has achieved what others could only dream of. It is quite amazing what this man has achieved over the years with his hard work and dedication. Though he is famous to be known as ‘the last superstar’, the recent past has not been kind to him. With the changing taste of the audience, SRK failed to create an impact in his last movie – Zero. After Zero’s debacle at the box office, SRK wasn’t seen in films for almost four long years.
And, now, after the four-year-long break, SRK is returning with not one, not two, but NINE new movies that are expected to be released in the next few months. Read more to know about SRK’s upcoming movies.
Here’s a list of all of Shah Rukh Khan’s (SRK’s) upcoming movies, and their tentative release dates.
1. Pathaan (25 January 2023)
Written & Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan is a spy-thriller. Pathaan is a part of YRF’s Spy Universe along with Salmaan Khan’s Tiger & Hrithik Roshan’s War. The movie stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and Dimple Kapadia in the lead role. It was released on 25 January 2023. Though the movie initially became the target of many controversies, it still managed to break all the records at the box office.
2. Jawaan (June 2023)
Jawaan left the audience super excited with its hard-hitting teaser. Marking the Bollywood debut of Nayanthara, this movie is directed by Atlee and is expected to be released in June 2023. Along with SRK and Nayanthara, the movie also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Thalapthy Vijay. As per sources, the movie is all set to release in five languages – Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada. As per an earlier announcement, the movie was expected to release on June 2, 2023. But, this may be postponed to later. We will keep you posted once the makers release any statement.
3. Operation Khukri (October 2023)
Another SRK’s upcoming movie is Operation Khukri. Based on Operation Khukri – the real-life mission carried out by the Indian Army and Air force, Operation Khukri is a war drama. It is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, who has also directed successful movies like Lagaan and Swades. With SRK in the lead role, we hope the makers definitely create a similar magic as that of Swades. The movie is tentatively expected to release on 2 October 2023.
4. Hey Ram Remake(TBD)
Recently, Kamal Haasan confirmed that SRK has bought the rights of Hey Ram. The movie, which was written and directed by Kamal Hassan, is based on the unrest in the country after Nathuram Godse assassinates Mahatma Gandhi. Based on the rumors, it is expected that SRK may play the role that Kamal Hassan played in the original.
5. Tiger 3 (Eid 2023 | Cameo)
While Tiger 3 is the third film in Salman Khan’s Tiger series, the movie will star Katrina Kaif opposite Salman Khan. It will be released on Eid in 2023. SRK will be seen in a cameo role in Tiger 3 as Pathaan and Tiger 3 are a part of Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe. Even Salmaan Khan confirmed that he will be seen in a special role in SRK’s Pathaan.

6. Dunki (22 December 2023)
Rajkumar Hirani’s comedy, Dunki will star Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu in the lead role. As per various sources, it is expected to be released on 22 December 2023. Though the makers haven’t released the details yet, as per the rumors, the movie is about donkey flight – a term used for the means by which many people exploit immigration loopholes to enter the United Kingdom via other European countries.
7. Shimit Amin’s next
Once again after Chak De! India, Shah Rukh Khan, and Shimit Amin are all set to team up for another movie. With this, we hope that the makers will recreate the magic of Chak De! India, which was released almost a decade ago.
8. Izhaar
Good news for all the SLB’s and SRK’s fans. As per many reports, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been eagerly wanting to make this movie. Titled Izhaar, the movie is based on the true life story of a man, who cycled from India to Norway for a girl. While sharing the details about the movie, an insider told Bollywood Hungama ” It was a film that Bhansali wanted to do with SRK around four years ago. It’s a love story revolving around this couple – an Indian man and a Norwegian girl. It’s based on the real-life story of the guy who cycled all the way to Norway for love,”
9. Rahul Dholakia’s next
In 2017, Rahul Dholakia and Shah Rukh Khan together delivered a blockbuster – Raees. And, as they are planning to collaborate again, many fans are really excited. In one of the interviews, the filmmaker shared that they discuss ideas and will do something that excites them both.
