Here is the list of movies that are set to release on digital platform and will skip theatres:
1. Laxmmi Bomb
The trend continues, another Tollywood movie has been recast and remade in the Bollywood cinemas. Casting Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani, the Laxmmi Bomb is a remake of the famous Tamil movie Muni 2- Kanchana. Due to this coronavirus lockdown situation, the makers may release the movie on Disney+ Hotstar.
2. Gulabo Sitabo
This is the first movie of Amitabh Bachchan which will not release in theatres and will take the digital route. A comedy film with Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role is directed by Shoojit Sircar. Gulabo Sitabo is set to release on Amazon Prime Video directly.
3. Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl
Biopic of the first woman air force officer who went to war, Gunjan Saxena. Telecasting Janhvi Kapoor, Angad Bedi, and Pankaj Tripathi was to be released on 24th April. The pandemic outbreak delayed its release and is now the movie is going to release on Netflix soon.
4. Indoo Ki Jawani
Upcoming movie Indoo Ki Jawani directed by Abir Sengupta featuring Kiara Advani and Aditya Seal is a story of a girl who is trying to find true love by swiping left and right on dating apps but finds herself in hilarious situations and ends up in trouble. This movie will probably release online.
5. Shiddat
Starring the Angrezi Medium actress Radhika Madaan, Mohit Raina, Diana Penty and Sunny Kaushal Shiddat is a romantic drama shot in Paris, London, and Punjab and is to be released digitally in 2020.
6. Mimi
A remake of Marathi movie Mala Aai Vahhaychy! stars Pankaj Tripathi, Kriti Sanon and also Marathi actress Sai Tamhankar. The story of the movie revolves around surrogacy. As per reports, the movie will release on Disney+ Hotstar.
7. Khaali Peeli
This movie casts the intense romance story of a new Bollywood Jodi Ananya Pandey and Ishaan Khattar, directed by Maqbool Khan. It is on cards to release on Netflix.
8. Jhund
Based on the real-life story of the founder of the NGO Slum Soccer, Vijay Barse. Directed by Nagraj Manjule this movie features Amitabh Bachchan, Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru. Jhund might release on Netflix.
9. Shakuntala Devi
Sanya Malhotra and Vidya Balan starer Shakuntala Devi is directed by and written by Anu Menon. Vidya plays the role of the great mathematician and human calculator ‘Shakuntala Devi.’ This movie will soon be premiered on Amazon Prime.
10. Ludo
The multi starrer Ludo is directed by Anurag Basu and is set to release on Netflix in 2020. The cast includes Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pankaj Tripathi and Rohit Suresh Saraf. The story revolves around the unpredictability of life and four different stories in a metro.
