As a charming robber in Dhoom 2, he made our hearts skip a beat, and in films like Agneepath, Guzarish and Jodha Akbar, he wowed us with the intensity of his acting. There were, however, a few hit films that Hrithik turned down. Let’s take a glimpse at it.

Swades, 2004

Ashutosh Gowarikar’s film Lagaan was nominated for an Academy Award, and every actor decided to collaborate with him. Hrithik was approached for Swadesh, but the actor was preoccupied with his film schedule.

Hrithik Roshan was the director’s pick to play Mohan Bhargava but Shah Rukh Khan later took over the role. The film was an instant hit and became a cult classic.

Bunty Aur Babli, 2005

Hrithik was approached for Bunty Aur Babli before Dhoom 2. He didn’t think he was the best choice for the part and suggested Abhishek Bachchan instead. The film went on to be a huge commercial success.

Rang De Basanti, 2006

Rang De Basanti is regarded as one of Bollywood’s best films. Many well-known figures in the industry were approached to participate. Except for DJ, Hrithik was given one of the major positions.

He turned it down because he was filming Krrish at the time. Aamir Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Sharman Joshi, and others then became the cast members.

Dil Chahta Hai, 2001

The film directed by Farhan Akhtar is one of the most progressive films ever made in Bollywood. Aamir Khan was so taken with the script that he persuaded Saif Ali Khan to join the project. Hrithik Roshan, on the other hand, was offered the role of Sid. Later, Akshaye Khanna took over the role.

In the script, Farah Khan wanted Hrithik to play Shah Rukh’s younger brother. Hrithik said he didn’t want to do repetitive roles, so he turned down the part. He suggested Zayed Khan for the role.

Sidharth Malhotra turned down 5 Bollywood projects

Among the actors, Sidharth Malhotra certainly made a real case for himself in the Bollywood film industry. He is one of the talented and handsome actors. Sidharth Malhotra started his career as a model when he was 18 years old.

After not being satisfied with the profession, he went on to ply his trade as a trainee assistant director to Karan Johar for the 2010 film My Name Is Khan.

He then made his acting debut with a leading role in Karan Johar’s teen drama Student of the Year (2012) and for which he received a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut nomination.

1. Kirik Party Remake – On Hold

Kirik Party was such an ultimate romantic comedy movie and it was a treat for the Kannada audience. This film became a hit in the Kannada film industry. Since it was so nice, the movie was remade in Tollywood as Kirrak Party, which was also a super hit.

Meanwhile, the Bollywood filmmakers decided to remake it in Hindi with Siddharth Malhotra in the main role. Nonetheless, the Studen No.1 actor turned down the project and thus it went to Kartik Aaryan. Needless to say, it is mostly a forgotten project as it’s been a long time and is still on hold.

2. Thadam Hindi Remake

Thadam was a perfect thriller movie that amassed the Tamil audience. The movie stars Arun Vijay in a double role and it was well-received by the audience. This movie turned out to be a success at the box office. As a result, the Bollywood filmmakers decided to make a Hindi remake. Sidharth Malhotra was preferred for this project but he didn’t take the role so, Aditya Roy Kapur took the opportunity.

3. Race 3 – Role performed by Bobby Deol

While the majority of the people are thankful that he is not a part of this flop movie but Sidharth would have done well before Bobby Deol entered the plot. The fans would have seen Sidharth as Yash Singh who is Anil Kapoor’s son.

4. Ek Villain Returns

The initial instalment of this movie turned out to be profitable. Sidharth Malhotra was signed up for the main role in the first part and Riteish Deshmukh was the villain. The sequel was also going to have Sidharth in the main role but John Abraham and Aditya Roy Kapur are now in the lead.

5. Bhavesh Joshi Superhero – Role performed by Harshvardhan Kapoor

Despite the fact that this film didn’t make its presence count in the cinema industry, Harshvardhan Kapoor became a popular personality after this movie. Harshvardhan drew praises across quarters for his performance. The role was bagged by Sidharth Malhotra but he denied it in the first place.
