Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor were Bollywood’s most popular couples. One of the most talked-about topics at the time was their relationship. When the news of their relationship broke, they had just finished filming Bachna Ae Haseeno together.
The sweethearts’ love for each other was often dubbed as “relationship goals” by their admirers. According to reports, the two fell in love and established a serious relationship. Deepika Padukone went so far as to tattoo Ranbir’s initials on the back of her neck, demonstrating their undying love.

However, things did not go well as Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone revealed their split over two years later. They did not, however, make a statement at the time. Deepika Padukone later claimed that Ranbir Kapoor had cheated on her, resulting in their split.
Deepika Padukone accused him of cheating on her with Katrina Kaif. In an interview, Deepika Padukone reportedly stated that the duo had patched things up after Ranbir apologised to her. However, things took an ugly turn when Deepika Padukone caught Ranbir Kapoor red-handed while cheating her.

Deepika Padukone’s rage towards Ranbir Kapoor was so clear that she went on to publicly criticise him on multiple occasions. Her separation from Ranbir Kapoor is said to have caused her mental damage.
Ranbir Kapoor, on the other hand, has acknowledged cheating in past relationships several times. Ranbir later spoke candidly about the breakup in an interview with Stardust magazine.
According to IB Times, he stated,
“Yes, I have cheated, out of immaturity, out of inexperience, out of taking advantage of certain temptations, out of callousness. You realise it now, when you grow up and you value it more, why be in a relationship, why be committed to someone when you cannot be committed?”
Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone reunited for Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani years later. The on-screen chemistry worked wonders for the film, which went on to become a box office hit. For Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha, the duo reunited once more. They have been good friends since then.
Ranbir Kapoor is now dating Alia Bhatt, with whom he will next be seen in Brahmastra. Deepika Padukone is blissfully married to Ranveer Singh, her Bajirao Mastani co-star. All four of them are now frequently seen hanging out together. Deepika and Ranbir have maintained their close friendship and have always been supportive of one another.
