Almost every 90’s kid must have watched or heard about the popular TV serial Shaka Laka Boom Boom which was the super favourite series at that time. This TV show made our childhood awesome and we just can’t describe how good it is. In fact, it has a better rating than the current TV serials.

The handsome actor Sanju from Shaka Laka Boom Boom had us dreaming and strongly believing in the powers of a magical pencil. Between 2000-2004, children would glue themselves to the television screens.

The TV show starts likes this: “Hi! Main Sanju. Mera secret hai magic pencil. Jo bhi banaye, sach ho jaye, aeroplane ya cycle!” The magical TV series about the adventures of Sanju and his friends entertained us.

THEN & NOW: What is Shaka Laka Boom Boom's Hansika Motwani doing now?

Sanju was the central character of the show who finds a magic pencil that brings anything to life when drawn from it. It is has been two decades after its launch and one of the crew members, Hansika Motwani, who played the role of Karuna has made it a long way in her acting career

The South Indian film industry is as big if not bigger than Bollywood itself. The South Indian audience is known for their dedication and the abundant love that they shower their actors with. They idolize movie stars and treat them with a lot of respect.

Similarly, Hansika Motwani who originated from North India has found immense success in the Tollywood industry. She started her career when she was pretty young and bagged many gigs as a child actor. Her first big successful role was in the Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta starrer, ‘Koi Mil Gaya’. Years later she was cast opposite Govinda and Himesh Reshammiya who were twice her age at the time. After odd pairings as such, she tried her hand in South Indian movies and that turned out to be for good. Her debut film, ‘Desamuduru’ bagged her the Filmfare Best Female Debut.

Apart from featuring in Tollywood films, she went on to feature in Kollywood films as well. She debuted in Kollywood cinema with Mappillai. Her next film, Engeyum Kadhal was a successful one. The same year she also featured alongside Vijay in Velayudham which was a hit.

Her successful films include Singham 2, Manithan, Aranmanai, Settai, Oru Kal Our Kannadi, Vaalu. Notably, she also debuted in Malayalam cinema with Villain. Her next movies include the thriller movie Maha directed by U. R. Jameel and Partner directed by Manoj Damodharan.
