Have you ever watched a movie 15 years ago and wondered, “Oh yeah, what happened to that guy?” You’ve seen their faces over and over again over the years in your favourite shows and movies, but for one reason or another, they seem to have missed the lure of the limelight.

Today, we take a look at Bollywood’s forgotten heroes and how they look now.

Hemant Birje

Hemant, best known for his 1985 movie ‘Tarzan,’ came to the fore and became a star in only one movie. After that, though, he encountered a decline in his career. He was last seen in Garv’s Salman Khan.

Zayed Khan

The son of actor Sanjay Khan, Zayed Khan made his 2003 Chura Liyaa Hai Tumnein acting debut. He struggled to make a mark in Bollywood, however, even after doing several films. In 2015, he was last seen in Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene.

Kumar Gaurav

Kumar Gaurav made a number of movies after making his debut in Love Story (1981), but was unable to make a mark in the industry. The actor has been away from the limelight for a while now. The last time he was seen was in Kaante (2002).

Bijay Anand

In the super hit film, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Bijay Anand was seen in the role of Kajol’s fiance. But unfortunately, the actor didn’t come into the limelight after that. With Dil Hi Toh Hai (TV Series), he made a comeback in 2018. He was also last seen in the biopic ‘Karenjit Kaur’ by Sunny Leone.

Sumeet Saigal

The actor was briefly known as Bollywood’s heartthrob in the late 80s. His films did not work, though his acting was praised. It is noteworthy that the veteran is now recognised as the father of Sayyeshaa Saigal, an actress.

Harman Baweja

Love Story 2050 marked the Bollywood debut of Harman Baweja. He became an absolute sensation because he was Hrithik Roshan’s look-alike. Other films of his, including Victory, What’s Your Raashee? Dishkiyaaoon, It’s My Life, didn’t help him in any way either, and needless to say, since then, we haven’t seen him on the silver screen. The last time he was seen was in Chaar Sahibzaade (2014).

Chandrachur Singh

It didn’t look like something could go wrong for Chandrachur Singh after a stellar debut in Tere Mere Sapne and a critically acclaimed success in Maachis, followed by 1996. But fate was cruel to his creativity and during the making of a film, he suffered several dislocations of his shoulder joint. He made his comeback with this year’s web series Aarya, starring Sushmita Sen.

Rahul Roy

He is best known, apart from Aashiqui, for his role on the TV reality show, Bigg Boss, in 2007. His comeback film in 2013, To Be Or Not To Be, went somewhat unnoticed. He is all set, officially, to make a comeback soon.

Jugal Hansraj

In the 1982 smash hit Masoom, the actor started off as a child actor. He played Naseeruddin Shah’s illegitimate son, and the film received many Filmfare Awards. Then came Aa Gale Lag Jaa, a hit and miss, before finally landing in the 2000 Mohabbatein romantic drama. He also tried his hand to guide him. His first film was an animated film called Roadside Romeo.

Sharad Kapoor

With his film Dastak, co-starring Mukul Dev and Sushmita Sen, he made a mark. In his career, he did several films, but he couldn’t taste enormous success. He made an appearance in 2019’s Jabariya Jodi after being out of the limelight for a few years.

Aarya Babbar

The son of veteran actor Raj Babbar, Aarya made his debut with Ab Ke Baras in Bollywood. He couldn’t make a mark in Bollywood despite being part of great films such as Guru, Tees Maar Khan, Ready, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola. He took part in Bigg Boss Season 8 as well.

Uday Chopra

Uday bid farewell to act after a not-so-great career in Bollywood, but went on to make an appearance in the Dhoom franchise. Uday, who is based in the US, looks after the international division of the home banner. Uday has kept a low profile since his last film. But the reports of Nargis Fakhri dating him have kept him in the headlines. However, reports of their break-up began to round up after the Rockstar actress followed Chopra on social media.

Fardeen Khan

Fardeen Khan proved to be quite a dud after winning the Filmfare Best Debut award for Prem Aggan in 1998. Since appearing in a number of movies, though, these days we don’t see much of him. The last time he was seen was in Dulha Mil Gaya (2010). He’s all set to make a comeback as a director, as reports say, but he’s still open to acting roles.

Ayub Khan

Ayub Khan, the nephew of superstar Dilip Kumar, has made many Bollywood films, but the star was sidelined by the industry after sampling failures in some of the films and remained overlooked. In the 1992 film Mashooq, the actor made his debut opposite Ayesha Jhulka. Ayub decided to try his luck on TV after tasting disappointment in films, which turned out to be the best thing for him.

Mukul Dev

Mukul Dev made his major debut in Dastak, the launch vehicle for Sushmita Sen. He was last seen and underwent a full makeover in the Punjabi film Zorawar and the Hindi film Bhaag Johnny.
