Laal Singh Chaddha vs Raksha Bandhan
Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan clashed at the box office on August 11, 2022 and we all know the result. Despite the films releasing on a festival day and having a long weekend, both the films had a disastrous run at the box office. Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan are now among the biggest flops of the year. Given that Bollywood films are now facing a big challenge at the box office as compared to South Indian films, here's looking at other big upcoming Bollywood clashes that may or may not meet the same fate as Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan.
Ram Setu vs Thank God
The Diwali 2022 is dedicated to Akshay Kumar's film Ram Setu and Ajay Devgn-Sidharth Malhotra starrer Thank God. Akshay has not been very lucky when it comes to the box office numbers of late. Further, Ram Setu has already been embroiled in a controversy A politician accused Akshay Kumar and the makers of Ram Setu of causing damage due to 'falsification in portrayal of the Ram Setu issue.' On the other hand, Sidharth Malhotra's Shershaah was a hit but Ajay Devgn's Runway 34 was a flop. With negative publicity around and competition from Thank God, one wonders if there will be a change in the release dates.
Phone Bhoot vs Kuttey
In November, Katrina Kaif, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ishaan Khatter starrer Phone Bhoot will clash with Arjun Kapoor starrer Kuttey. Both the films are releasing on November 4, 2022. Arjun Kapoor's latest film Ek Villain Returns did not do wonders at the box office. Whereas, Siddhant Chaturvedi's multi-starrer Gehraiyaan was well received. But given that expectations of the audience have reached sky high thanks to the South Indian films, it remains to be seen if the makers of these films will avert the clash or not.
Yodha vs Uunchai
Sidharth Malhotra who tasted great success with Shershaah has one more movie releasing this year. The film is Yodha which will see him with Disha Patani and Raashi Khanna. It releases on November 11 and on the same day, Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher and Boman Irani's Unnchai is also releasing on the same day. The buzz around both films as of now appears to be lukewarm.
Bheed vs Drishyam 2
Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 1 was a success and now he is coming up with part 2. However, his Runway 34 released early this year failed to achieve big. Along with Drishyam 2, Rajkummar Rao's Bheed is also going to release. Both the films have locked November 18 as their release date, just one week after Yodha and Unnchai hit theatres. The box office clutter may impact the numbers.
Cirkus vs Ganpath
The Christmas week is always considered to be the best to release a Bollywood film. Dangal, Tiger Zinda Hai and more big Bollywood films that have massive success stories were released during Christmas. However, given the trend of Bollywood flops, it remains to be seen if Christmas will do any magic for Ranveer Singh's film Cirkus and Tiger Shroff's film Ganpath. Rohit Shetty has been waiting for a long time to release Cirkus while Ganpath is expected to turn into a successful franchise. Everyone has fingers crossed.
