Ponniyin Selvan is one of the most awaited South projects at the moment. Adding to the hype, the makers have unveiled the teaser of the latest song Chola Chola from Mani Ratnam's magnum opus. This track from this period film is a tribute to the Chola dynasty's power. AR Rahman has scored the single, while Vishal Mishra and Swagat Rathod have crooned it.
Mehboob Kotwal has penned the lyrics for Chola Chola. The complete song will be revealed at 6 PM today. As Subaskaran’s Lyca Productions presents Ponniyin Selvan, Madras Talkies have backed it in association with Lyca Productions.

This month itself, the makers released the first song of the film titled Ponni Nadhi. Karthi, Jayam Ravi, and Jayaram were present at the launch event in Chennai. During a heartfelt speech at the gathering, Karthi talked about his experience of being a part of this magnum opus, "Working on this film has been like a dream." Adding to this Jayam Ravi was also quoted saying, "Tamil Makkal have a good cinema sense to appreciate even a good shot. This is something very unique about our audience". He added, "Ponniyin Selvan is a novel that is deeply embedded in the hearts and minds of every Tamilian who has read it. I’m delighted to be a part of this creation."
This much-anticipated venture enjoys an ensemble cast with biggies like Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman, and R. Parthiban, apart from the rest.
Ponniyin Selvan is slated to reach the theatres on 30th September this year. It will be available in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
