Shershaah – the movie that touched our hearts and souls – is one of the finest movies that Bollywood has made in recent times. The movie is a biographical war film based on the life of Indian Army Captain Vikram Batra, who was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest award for valor for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War.
The movie stars Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead role. While the movie was declared a super-hit at the time of release, recently, the movie has received various awards at IIFA. And, we believe, the movie totally deserves all the recognition and rewards.
Here are some of the movie scenes that are just a reminder of how great, spectacular, and special the movie – Shershaah- is.
1. The Letter Exchange
This beautiful scene captures the emotions of love in such a heart-touching way that you just couldn’t stop yourself from falling in love with this beautiful couple. From complaints to love to memories, this movie scene captures everything that we want love to be. In the history of Bollywood, this scene is definitely one of the finest romantic scenes ever.
2. The Conversation Between Vikram And Sunny
This particular scene hits you hard as it captures the spirit of a soldier in such a powerful way. When Vikram says, “Ya toh tiranga fehra kar aaunga ya usme lipat kar”, we all felt goosebumps. That scene reflects patriotism to the next level.
3. The Proposal By Vikram
This proposal might seem simple but its greatness lies in simplicity. The way Vikram expressed himself in the most truthful, honest, and heart-warming words, this scene represents the epitome of love.
4. The “Unofficial” Wedding
This unexpected and sudden wedding between Vikram and Dimple left many in tears and smiles. Vikram was so committed to Dimple that he couldn’t wait to get married to her. He held Dimple’s hand once and swore to never let it go. His love is still eternal as Dimple calls herself his “widow.”
5. “Ye Dil Mange More” Scene
Based on the real-life, this scene from war is the real life of the movie. During the stressful moments of the war, how Vikram kept everyone’s spirits high by keeping his humor makes you fall in love with Vikram even more. His unique personality and never-ending passion made all of us laugh and cry.
6. The Cremation Scene
One of the most powerful scenes – The Cremation Scene – leaves you sad and heartbroken. When Dimple reaches the sight of Vikram’s body in flames, her eyes depicted all the pain at once. Watching that scene without tears is next to impossible, even the song “Mann bharya” suits the setting perfectly. That unrequited love pouring as pain from Dimple’s eyes is the greatest of all.
This scene was shot in the presence of Vikram’s twin brother Vishal Batra. Not many know that the sequence was shot at the same place in Palamfapur where Batra’s funeral was held years ago. The cast was emotional while filming it, and the proof was the sequence that looks honest and gut-wrenching.
