In the times when voices against nepotism in the Bollywood industry are becoming louder and louder, very few star kids have chosen not to rely on nepotism. Like many outsiders, these star kids worked hard to create a name for themselves away from the limelight of the Bollywood industry. Here are 6 such star kids who challenged themselves and are on the path to becoming successful courtesy of their own merits.
1. Riddhima Kapoor S
Daughter of late Rishi and Neetu Kapoor and sibling of Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor chose to walk down a different path. Despite hailing from a famous Bollywood family, she made a mark for herself as a successful fashion and jewelry designer. Based out of Delhi, she also owns her personal jewelry line called R Jewellery, which she launched along with Anuj Kapoor of Punjab Jewellers, Mumbai (as per the brand’s official website).
2. Rhea Kapoor
Born in one of the most famous Bollywood families, Rhea Kapoor is not only the daughter of Anil Kapoor but also a sibling of Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Harshvardhan Kapoor. She is a cousin of Arjun Kapoor, Jhanvi Kapoor, and Khushi Kapoor. But, unlike other star kids in her family, Rhea Kapoor opted to create her own path. She is a successful owner of a high-street fashion brand Rheson and also a popular celebrity stylist.
3. Jhanvi Mehta
Jhanvi Mehta is the daughter of Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla and businessman Jay Mehta. Rather than pursuing acting as a profession like her mother, this 21-year-old has no interest in making a Bollywood debut. Rather, Juhi Chawla has shared on multiple occasions, that Jhanvi is very interested in writing and wants to become a writer.
4. Ira Khan
Ira Khan has been under media scrutiny for quite some time now. The daughter of Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan and his first wife Reena Dutta has decided to take a path different from her father. Ira has been vocal about her love for theatre. She has also made her directorial debut with the theatrical production of Euripides’ Medea.
5. Anshula Kapoor
Anshula is the daughter of famous filmmaker Boney Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor’s younger sister. She is also a step-sister of Jhanvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. Anshula has a strong academic background and has worked with leading companies like Google. Before starting her own online fundraising platform, Fankind, she also worked as the Operations Manager for Hrithik Roshan’s sports brand HRX.
6. Shaheen Bhatt
Shaheen Bhatt is the daughter of famous Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan. She is the elder sister of Alia Bhatt. But, she refused to take the same path as that of her mother and sister. Rather, she turned into a writer. She has not only written screenplays for certain movies, but she has also launched her debut book I’ve Never Been (Un)Happier.
These star kids may not be as popular as their parents or siblings, but we are proud of them for choosing a path less traveled.
