Kartik Aaryan confirmed for Aashiqui 3
At long last, Aashiqui 3 is getting underway, 9 years after Aashiqui 2, with Bollywood’s hottest flavour of the season, Kartik Aaryan, roped in to play the lead, and Anurag Basu taking over the directorial reins this time around. Kartik Aaryan himself shared the announcement video on his official Instagram handle, with the caption: “Ab Tere Bin Ji Lenge Hum Zeher Zindagi Ka Pi Lenge Hum #Aashiqui3 This one is going to be Heart-wrenching !! My First with Basu Da.” The big question now though is who’s going to be the leading lady opposite him? Let’s analyse…
Aashiqui 3 heroine: Sara Ali Khan or Janhvi Kapoor or Ananya Panday
Given Kartik Aaryan’s age and youthful appeal, Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday would’ve been a great bet. However, given his alleged dating history and breakups with them, these three options now seem to be out of the window.
Aashiqui 3 heroine: Kriti Sanon or Kiara Advani
Kartik Aaryan already has proven chemistry with both Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani courtesy Luka Chuppi and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. However, he’ll soon be seen with them in Shehzada and Satyaprem Ki Katha respectively, so the makers may not want to repeat either pairing so soon.
Aashiqui 3 heroine: Shraddha Kapoor
Shraddha Kapoor is one of the biggest draws today and known as the Aashiqui girl, plus her pairing with Kartik would create great buzz. However, the Aashiqui franchise is known for changing the lead pair, so her casting is a long shot.
Aashiqui 3 heroine: Alia Bhatt
There’s always Alia Bhatt, another huge draw just like Shraddha, and her virgin pairing with Kartik would again create immense buzz. However, given her propensity to work only with very big banners and big Directors (no offence to T-Series or Anurag Basu), her casting is also a long shot.
Aashiqui 3 heroine: Rashmika Mandanna or Pooja Hegde or Samantha Ruth Prabhu
Finally, either of Rashmika Mandanna, Pooja Hegde or Samantha Ruth Prabhu could be cast opposite Kartik Aaryan in Aashiqui 3. South actresses are really working these days and they’ll also come cheaper than either Shraddha, Alia, Kriti or Kiara, and it’ll be another new pairing.
