Top TV shows playing on the problematic 'sisters are evil' angle
We have to admit, there are a lot of problematic things being shown on TV shows these days. Be it extramarital affairs, cheating or polygamy and whatnot. However, some of these things are showcased in a manner to highlight the reality of the scenario around the world. Sometimes, it's just to add the tadka. However, there's one problematic thing, we have observed in the TV shows of late and top TV shows, for that matter wherein sisters have been pitted against each other. Be it in Udaariyaan, Imlie, Kumkum Bhagya, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and more. We just want to say, dear makers sister's bond is not quite like y'all show on TV. Sisters are not so evil towards each other and certainly not wanting to kill each other. How about showing some realistic bond between sisters and not constantly pit them against each other?
Udaariyaan: Jasmin and Tejo's animosity
In Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Isha Malviya and Ankit Gupta starter Udaariyaan, Jasmin was shown evil towards Tejo. After Tejo married Fateh because Jasmin left him at the altar, the latter has been planning the ruin of her own sister and how! And now, their daughters, Nehmat and Naaz are on the same path it seems.
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Aarohi hates Akshara
While we understand, that jealousy can turn a sister's bond sour but it's just for time being. Aarohi blaming Akshara for her mother Sirat's death is also quite problematic. And honestly, sisters would steal clothes and not husband! Sisters don't meddle and create problems in marital lives of other siblings/step-siblings.
Yeh Hai Chahatein: Mahima pretended to be dead; gave her son to Preesha
Mahima returned in Preesha's life to take away Saaransh. Mahima gave her son to Preesha and for what reason? She later brought the lookalike of Rudraksh, her sister's husband to keep them separate. She also helped kill her sister's father-in-law. Whoa!
Sasural Simar Ka 2: Reema off to kill Simar in the show
Well, Simar is the nice one while Reema is not so nice. She eyed Simar's husband after leaving him at the altar and got married to his brother to be in the same house. And now, in the latest promo, Reema is going to kill her sister due to a supernatural twist?!
Naagin 6: Mahek planned to kill Pratha
So, in Tejasswi Prakash, Simba Nagpal and Maheck Chahal starrer Naagin 6, at first, we saw a loving and caring bond between sisters Pratha and Mahek. But later, as usual, Mahek turned negative, why because she wanted to be the sarvasreshtha Shesh Naagin. Sisters fighting over the diamond set is acceptable but not enough to kill each other.
Imlie: Malini planning ruin of Imlie
Imlie and Malini learn that they are step-siblings. Sumbul Touqeer and Mayuri Deshmukh played their parts perfectly. Malini was not evil at first but later turned evil. She plotted to ruin Imlie and Aditya's relationship. And later, Imlie and Aryan's relationship and recently, she just bombed them.
Kumkum Bhagya: Rhea plotting how to ruin her sister Prachi's happiness
In Kumkum Bhagya, Prachi and Rhea have been living with a parent each and later learn about each other's existence. Rhea has been against Prachi ever since. Their parents are both dead, who wanted them to be together, but the saga of the sisters' animosity continues.
