Bhool Bhulaiaya 2, Ashiqui 2, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, KGF 2 and Bahubaali 2 are some of the sequels that created similar magic at the box office as the original. Some of them were even more entertaining than the original. We do understand that more often than not sequels fail to engage the audience and leave them disappointed. 1. Tiger 3
After two successful movies – Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) under the Tiger franchise, the spy thriller is returning with a new sequel. Along with Salman Khan as Tiger and Katrina Kaif as Zoya, the new sequel will also star Emraan Hashmi in the negative role. Film produced under the Yash Raj Films banner is one of the most anticipated movies of 2023. The movie s expected to release in theatres globally on April 21, 2023.
2. Gadar 2
Almost after 20 years, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, the successful romantic drama, is returning with a sequel. Starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, this movie will also feature Utkarsh Sharma as Jeete. The movie is jointly produced by Zee Studios and Anil Sharma Productions. The release date is yet to be announced.
3. Ek Villain returns
Ek Villian Returns is a spiritual successor of Ek Villain, which was released in 2014. The movie is an action thriller, which is directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Balaji Motions Pictures & T-Series. Starring John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria, this movie is planned to hit the theatres on 29 July 2022.
4. No Entry 2
After the successful sequel of Bhool Bhulaiya, Aneez Bazmee is all set to start working on the sequel of No Entry (2005). Starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor & Fardeen Khan this movie will feature almost 10 actresses. While the film’s release date is yet to be announced, we hope the sequel won’t be as problematic as the original.
5. OMG 2
OMG 2 – the satirical comedy-drama is definitely one of the most awaited sequels. The movie is the sequel of OMG: Oh My God! – the comedy-drama – that starred Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar. The spiritual sequel features Pankaj Tripathi, Akshay Kumar, and Yami Gautam in the lead roles. Though the release date hasn’t been announced, according to some sources the movie is tentative to release in the month of November 2022.
6. Ishq Vishk Rebound
2003’s coming-of-age-romantic drama, Ishq Vishk, which marked the Bollywood debut of Shahid Kapoor is returning with a sequel after 20 years of wait. The sequel stars Pashmina Roshan, Rohit Saraf, Jibraan Khan and Naila Grewal in lead roles. The movie is expected to hit the theatres in 2023.
7. Hera Pheri 3
The whole internet celebrated when the producer Nadiadwala announced that Hera Pheri will return back with a new sequel. Yes, after the successful movies – Hera Pheri & Phir Hera Pheri, the fans waited for a long time for the trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty & Paresh Rawal to return. And, now the makers have confirmed that Hera Pheri 3 is on the cards with the original cast. Hope the release date will soon be announced.
8. Drishyam 2
Ajay Devgn & Tabu are returning back with the Hindi remake of Drishyam 2. The much-awaited sequel will premier on November 18, 2022.
