Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's Brahmastra has closed its opening week with collections at Rs. 170 crores. The Ayan Mukerji directorial collected Rs. 9.25 crores on the seventh day taking total collections a little above Rs. 170 crores. The trend on weekdays was slightly lower than expected, yet the film should enter the Rs. 200 crore club by the end of the second weekend.
The drops are on the higher side, and it's the strong run through the opening weekend that has put the film in a good position so far at the national level. Brahmastra will be looking at a second Friday in the range of Rs. 7 crores and from there on the clock Rs. 30 crores in the second weekend to enter the Rs. 200 crore club. The multiplexes continue to be top contributors as the mass belts are on a downward journey on the weekdays.
Of Rs. 170 crores, around Rs. 150 crores have come from the Hindi version, and the remaining Rs. 20 crores have come from South Dubbed. In the next 2 days, Brahmastra will topple Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 to emerge as the second highest-grossing film of the year after The Kashmir Files. The budget of Brahmastra is however much higher and hence, it isn't a clean hit despite the high numbers.
Brahmastra so far has trended like Marvel Superhero film, catering to the youth of the country, and hence, the collections are lopsided with big jumps over the weekend and rather bigger falls on weekdays. The trend should continue until the release of Vikram Vedha as the audience response isn't negative but rather mixed, which indicates that jumps will keep coming over the weekends.
