And attached to the TV show is an actor's journey. And again it depends on the ongoing story, character arc and other logistics whether the actor wishes to be on the show or leave. Actors who quit popular TV shows: Alma Hussein exits Anupamaa 

Recently, Alma Hussein who played Sara in Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna starrer Anupamaa quit the show. The actress had recently entered the show as Anuj's niece. She was going to play Samar's love interest in the show. However, after Paras Kalnawat's ouster, things took a drastic change. And now, with the ongoing story and after the controversy after Paras' exit the makers are hesitant to explore Samar and Sara's love story despite them finding Paras' replacement in Sagar Parekh. Not wanting to stay in the background with nothing to do, Alma decided to move on. The makers understood her feelings and gave an open ending to her track where Sara is shown leaving for abroad for further studies.

This was one of the biggest shocks for all the Dhoopians and Kundali Bhagya fans. Dheeraj Dhoopar quit Shraddha Arya starrer Kundali Bhagya a couple of weeks ago. He left his fans devastated by his decision. Dheeraj is gearing up for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 and Sherdil Shergill.

Shailesh Lodha quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah because he felt his number of days was being utilised properly. He wanted to explore more work and not stay at home when he was not called on set. However, due to the exclusivity contract, he couldn't do so and hence opted out. Moreover, Asit Modi's jibe at his exit and Shailesh's alleged response created quite a controversy.
