Brahmastra
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's film Brahmastra is taking the box office by storm. The film that also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy is also doing wonders overseas. Not just in India, Brahmastra has managed to make great money in countries like US and more. As reported by Box Office Mojo, Brahmastra's first opening weekend collection was $26.5 million ( Rs 212 crore) worldwide. It's HUGE given that Aamir Khan's movie Laal Singh Chaddha did not do so well. Here's looking at other Indian films that did splendidly well in overseas market.
RRR
RRR starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn was a massive hit this year. The film broke all the box office records except that of Baahubali. In India, it made more than Rs 900 crore while abroad, it made more than Rs 209 crore.
Dangal
Aamir Khan's movie Dangal did phenomenally well at the box office. Especially overseas. It was a massive hit in China as it made $216.2 million. The gross overseas total of the film is Rs 1,519 crore. Worldwide it made Rs 2024 crore as per wikipedia.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan directed by Kabir Khan also managed to create a great amount of buzz. The overseas total of the film was Rs 524.14 crore while its Worldwide total was Rs 969.06 crore.
Baahubali 2
Prabhas' Baahubali 2 directed by SS Rajamouli still remains to be one of the highest-grossing films in the history of Indian cinema. Fans were really interested to know Katappa ne Baahubali ko kyun maara? Due to this, the film made Rs 380.76 crore in overseas gross while Worldwide it made Rs 1,810.59 crore.
Secret Superstar
Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar with Zaira Wasim was a bigger success abroad than it was in India. The overseas total of the film as per Wikipedia is Rs 940 crore and its Worldwide total is Rs 977 crore. It created its maximum money in China
