Ranveer Singh recently came under the scanner after he showcased his bold side yet again by going nude for a magazine photoshoot. While he received a lot of support and encouragement from fans and colleagues in the industry, some took offense to his photos and even approached the Mumbai police to file a case against the actor. The Mumbai Police registered an FIR against him, followed by which, he was summoned recently to record his statement about the case.
During the same, Ranveer Singh, reportedly alleged that one of the photos from the photoshoot that was posted online was actually morphed but further details on it are not yet revealed. As per ANI reports, in a statement recorded by the actor on August 29 in Mumbai, during his questioning session, the actor asserted that one of the photos was tampered with.
For the uninitiated, Ranveer Singh took to Instagram to share photos of him lying nude on a carpet which was part of a photoshoot for Paper Magazine. He also shared another couple of photos including one where he is seated on the same carpet. Needless to say, the photos created a massive uproar in the media.
A few days after the Instagram post, a Mumbai-based NGO filed a complaint against Ranveer with the Chembur Police in Mumbai, accusing him of hurting women’s sentiments and outraging their modesty. The police authorities, later, registered an FIR against Singh under sections 509, 292, and 294 of the Indian Penal Code along with section 67 A of the Information Technology Act.
Meanwhile, on the film front, Ranveer Singh recently several honours and awards for his performance in the film ’83 based on the iconic win of India’s first World Cup in Cricket. The film featured him in the role of former Indian captain Kapil Dev. The actor also won a SIIMA word for being the Most Loved Actor in South India recently.
