While their debut movies, these actors set a new standard for the industry. However, there are many actors whose debut movies couldn’t create any magic. 1. Ananya Panday in Student Of The Year 2
Ananya Panday debuted in Student of the year 2 in 2019. Not only the movie but the leading actors also left the audience disappointed. With an IMDb rating of 2.1, Student of the year 2 is one of the lowest-rated Bollywood movies of recent times. While Ananya Pandey won the Best Female Debut Award for the movie, many criticized her award and blamed Bollywood for promoting nepotism.
2. Tiger Shroff in Heropanti
Tiger Shroff debuted in Heropanti in 2014. While the movie opened with mixed reviews, the critics had a lot to say about the movie. While Tiger was appreciated for his athletic abilities, he was heavily criticized for his acting skills. Many critics stated that Heropanti was all about Tiger’s athletic ability and has nothing to do with his acting skills
3. Fardeen Khan in Prem Aggan
Son of superstar Feroz Khan, Fardeen Khan made his debut in 1998 with the Bollywood movie Prem Aggan. With endless flaws, the movie proved disaster at the box office. It’s definitely one of those movies that Bollywood would like to forget.
4. Harman Baweja in Love Story 2050
Son of director Harry Baweja, Harman Baweja, received a lot of attention during his Bollywood debut. His uncanny similarity with Hrithik Roshan created a lot of hype back then. But soon when his debut movie Love Story 2050 was released, he was brutally criticized for his lack of acting skills. Many called Love Story 2050 – torture for the audience.
5. Nargis Fakhri in Rockstar
Fakhri made her acting debut with a female lead role in Imtiaz Ali’s musical romantic drama Rockstar in 2011. The film follows the journey of an aspiring musician from a humble background to international stardom after the death of his passionate lover. While the movie Rockstar was appreciated, Nargis Fakhri was trolled brutally for her performance as Heer. Nargis overacting skills turned Heer into a character that many didn’t like.
6. Sooraj Pancholi in Hero
Son of Aditya Pancholi, Sooraj Pancholi debuted in 2015 with the movie named Hero. Though he was launched with the support of Salman Khan, he failed miserably to impress the audience. He got another movie – Satellite Shankar – but once again failed to prove his talent and the movie tanked at the box office.
7. Athiya Shetty in Hero
Daughter of famous actor Suneil Shetty, Athiya Shetty made her debut with ‘Hero’ in 2015 which was produced by Salman Khan. Though she was launched by Salman and is the daughter of a famous actor, her career didn’t take off.
