Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt is one of the biggest hits of 2022. The movie was said to be based on the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai written by S. Hussain Zaidi. In its opening weekend, Gangubai Kathiawadi had collected Rs. 39.12 crore at the box office

Bajirao Mastani starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Priyanka Chopra was based on Nagnath S. Inamdar's Marathi novel Rau. The film in three days had minted Rs. 46.77 crore.
