In 2018, when the Thugs of Hindostan was released, many were excited for this Aamir Khan starrer. But, sadly, this movie turned into a disaster and failed miserably at the box-office.

And, after failure of Thugs of Hindostan, Aamir Khan is returning on the big screen with Laal Singh Chaddha. An official remake of 1994 cult movie Forrest Gump, Laal Singh Chaddha is expected to end Bollywood’s streak of failures at Box-office. Many are hoping that Laal Singh Chaddha is expected to break box office records just like Aamir’s last few releases. 

Here’s a look at 5 Aamir Khan films that broke all-time box office records: 

Ghajini (2008) 

Remake of 2005 Tamil film with the same name, Ghajini is directed by AR Murugadoss. Do you know Ghajini was the first Indian film that hit Rs 100 Crore at the domestic box office? The movie starred Aamir Khan, Asin, Jiah Khan and Pradeep Rawat. The movie collected Rs 115 Crore in India & 190 Cr globally.

3 Idiots (2009) 

This cult classic was directed by Rajkumar Hirani and it became the second Indian movie to cross Rs 100 Crore and first Indian movie to hit 200 crore mark. With stellar performances by Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor Khan & Boman Irani, 3 Idiots collected Rs 202.95 crore in India & globally it made Rs 400.61 crore.

Dhoom 3 (2013) 

Beating the history, Dhoom 3, the action thriller broke many records at the box-office. The audience loved this action thriller so much that it became the highest grossing film of all time. It broke the box office record of Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express. Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra & Katrina Kaif, Dhoom 3 collected Rs 285 crore in India & Rs 557 crore at the worldwide box office. 

PK (2014)

Like other Aamir Khan movies, PK created a new record as it became the first Indian film to hit the Rs 300 crore mark domestically. PK, directed by Rajkumar Hirani collected Rs 341 crore in India & globally it earned a massive Rs 770 crore. The movie starred Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput & Sanjay Dutt. 

Dangal (2016) 

Another movie that established Aamir Khan’s supremacy in the Bollywood industry was his last super-hit Dangal. The movie turned out to be the first film to cross Rs 350 Crore mark domestically and hit Rs 2000 crore at the worldwide box office, Along with Aamir Khan, the movie also featured Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Sakshi Tanwar & Aparshakti Khurana.
