As 2022 is about to end, we are excited about about the coming year. Though 2022 was way better than 2021, we hope 2023 turns out even better. It not only brings happiness and joy to us but also entertains us better. As far as Bollywood movies are concerned 2022 wasn’t a great year. Many superstars loaded movies fell flat on the box-office and failed to impress the audience. But 2023 looks promising. Here is a list of upcoming movies of 2023 that we are really excited about.
1. Pathaan
Shah Rukh’s much awaited movie Pathaan is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The movie marks the return of SRK on big screen after a break of almost five years. The movie also stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and Dimple Kapadia. Siddharth Anand’s directorial, Pathaan is going to hit the theatres on 25th January 2023.
2. Shehzada
The movie stars Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon in the lead role under the direction of Rohit Dhawan. For the unversed, the movie is a remake of Allu Arjun’s Telugu hit Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The movie is expected to release on 10th February 2023.The movie also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Ronit Roy along with the lead couple.
3. Dostana 2
Karan Johar is returning with Dostana’s sequel Dostana 2 on 14th February 2023. Directed by Colin D’Cunha, the movie stars Janhvi Kapoor, Laksh Lalwani and Abhishek Bannerjee in leading roles.
4. Selfiee
Dharma Productions’ upcoming movie Selfiee, stars Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi. This drama-comedy is directed by Raj Mehta of Good Newwz fame. For the unversed, the movie is s a remake of the 2019 Malayalam-language comedy-drama Driving Licence. As per reports, the movie is expected to release on 24th February 2023.
5. Mrs.Chatterjee VS Norway
Inspired by the real story, Mrs.Chatterjee vs Norway features Rani Mukherjee in the lead role. The movie revolves around an Indian couple, whose children were taken away by the Norwegian welfare services in 2011. The movie is expected to be released on 3rd March 2023.
6. Tu Jhooti Main Makkar
After Brahmastra, Ranbir Kapoor will return to the big screen with Tu Jhooti Mai n Makkar. The movie is directed by Luv Ranjan and stars Shraddha Kapoor along with Ranbir Kapoor. As per sources, the movie is expected to release on 8th March 2023.
7. Bholaa
Ajay Devgn’s directorial Bholaa is expected to hit the big screen on March 30, 2023. Bholaa is the Hindi remake of Tamil hit Kaithi. Along with Ajay Devgn, movie also stars Tabu Sanjay Mishra, Deepak Dobrial and others.
8. Tiger 3
After two successful movies – Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) under the Tiger franchise, the spy thriller is returning with a new sequel. Along with Salman Khan as Tiger and Katrina Kaif as Zoya, the new sequel will also star Emraan Hashmi in the negative role. Film produced under the Yash Raj Films banner is one of the most anticipated movies of 2023. The movie s expected to release in theatres globally on April 21, 2023.
9. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani
One of the most awaited movie of next year is Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani. The movie stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. The movie also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles in the movie. As per sources, the movie will hit the theatres on 28th April, 2023.
10. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan
Another Salmaan Khan starrer that is expected to hit theatres this year is Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.This action comedy film is directed by Farhad Samji and is produced by Salman Khan Films. As per reports the movie is expected to release on 21st April, 2023.

11. Jawan
Other than Pathan, Shah Rukh Khan will also be seen in Jawan. Along with Shah Rukh Khan, the movie also stars Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover etc. Directed by Atlee, the movie will hit the theatres on 2nd June, 2023.
12. Adipurush
Based on the epic story of Ramayan, the movie stars Prabhas as Raghava, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh. As per Wikipedia, the movie is expected for a theatrical release on 16 June 2023.
13. Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2
Another movie that will be returning with a sequel is Salmaan Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The movie will be directed by Kabir Khan. Though there is no confirmation about the release date, many sources have claimed that movie release would be in June, 2023.
14. Animal
Animal is a gangster drama starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in prominent roles. It is a drama directed by Sandeep Reddy and is expected to release on 15th August 2023.

15. Gadar 2
After 23 years, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, the successful romantic drama, is returning with a sequel. Starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, this movie will also feature Utkarsh Sharma as Jeete. The movie is jointly produced by Zee Studios and Anil Sharma Productions. The movie is expected to release on 15th August 2023.
16. Dunki
Rajkumar Hirani’s comedy, Dunki will star Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu in the lead role. It will be released on 22 December 2023.

17. Sam Bahadur
Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming movie – ‘Sam Bahadur’ is based on the real-life hero – Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. The movie is directed by talented Meghna Gulzar, who has given us hard-hitting movies like Raazi and Chappak. The movie is expected to release on 1st December 2023.
