Guntur Kaaram Holds Steady After Stellar Start, Early Estimates Hint at Sustained Momentum

Mahesh Babu's "Guntur Kaaram" continues its fiery run at the box office, crossing the coveted ₹100 crore mark in domestic net collections within six days. Following a thunderous opening of ₹41.3 crore, the film faced a slight dip on its second day but stabilized thereafter, maintaining consistent figures around ₹14 crore through Monday and Tuesday. Early estimates for Wednesday place its earnings at ₹4.65 crore, showcasing a healthy decline and suggesting sustained audience interest.

While Wednesday's numbers are lower than the opening days' frenzy, they point towards a film with strong legs. The initial dip was attributed to competition from another big release, "Hanu Man," and the post-Sankranthi slowdown. However, Guntur Kaaram seems to be holding its own, drawing audiences with its masala-tinged narrative, Babu's charismatic performance, and Trivikram Srinivas's signature wit and action.

Trade analysts are optimistic about the film's prospects. Trade expert Taran Adarsh tweeted, "Guntur Kaaram remains strong in its 2nd week #IndiaBiz.. crosses ₹100 cr nett (as per early estimates).. should do well in coming days too." Industry tracker Sacnilk predicts the film could touch ₹125 crore nett in its first week, cementing its place as a commercial success.

The positive word-of-mouth surrounding the film, particularly its humor and action sequences, is helping its case. Audiences are praising Babu's portrayal of a fiery underdog fighting for justice, while critics have applauded the film's entertainment value and technical proficiency. While some have found the plot predictable, the masala elements seem to be resonating with the masses.

The overseas market is also contributing to the film's success. Early reports suggest strong collections in the US, UK, and Australia, where Babu enjoys a dedicated fan base. With the weekend approaching, Guntur Kaaram is expected to see a rise in footfalls, especially in family audiences.

Overall, Guntur Kaaram's performance so far is encouraging. While it may not reach the dizzying heights of some of Babu's previous blockbusters, it is likely to remain a profitable venture for its makers. The film's ability to draw in audiences over the coming weeks will determine its eventual box office triumph, but for now, Guntur Kaaram seems to be sizzling with success.
