South Indian film industry’s backbone is its young and vibrant actors who can act, dance, handle heavy action-packed stunt scenes and even sing. While some of them attained academic education in acting and dancing from various film institutes, many of them hail from the backgrounds which are entirely different to their current profile like engineering and literature.
Take a look at the educational qualification of popular actresses from South India.

1. Anushka Shetty

Anushka Shetty who recently played the role of Devasena in blockbuster film Baahubali has completed her graduation in BCA from Mount Caramel College of Banglore University. She wished to do PG in Computer Science but was not fulfilled. The actress mainly works in Telugu and Tamil films.

2. Shriya Saran

One of the most talented and beautiful face of South Industry, Shriya Saran has done schooling from Delhi Public School in Haridwar and New Delhi. Later she has done graduation in BA literature from Lady Shri Ram College. She made her acting debut with Telugu film ‘Ishtam’. She gained huge fame with the Bollywood movie Awarapan. Some of her hit Telugu movies include Nuvve Nuvve, Tagore, Arjun, Chatrapathi, Gopala Gopala and many more.

3. Kajal Aggarwal

Kajal Agrawal, who worked in Bollywood movies like “Singham”, “Special 26″ is a well known face in South Indian film industry. She has done her primary education from St. Anne’s High School, Mumbai and Jai Hind College. She obtained degree in Mass Media from K.C. College, Mumbai. From her college days she began her modelling career. She has planned to study MBA in Brand Management but has became a film actress.

4. Trisha Krishnan

Trisha Krishnan who is one of the highest paid actresses in South industry has completed her schooling from Sacred Heart Matriculation School, Chennai. Later she graduated in BBA at Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai. Initially, she aspired to become a criminal psychologist instead became an actress.

5. Shruti Hassan

One of the finest multi-talented star, south-Indian actress, singer, and music composer, Shruti Hassan has Complete her Study in Psychology Degree from St. Andrew’s College, India. Shruti has started her career as a singer and later turned to acting. Shruti is very versatile as she also tried her hands in modeling.

6. Tamannaah Bhatia

Tamannah Bhatia is not only a big name in Tamil film industry, but also has done a large number of hit Hindi movies in recent times. She has completed her schooling from Maneckji Cooper Educational Trust School, Mumbai. Later she has done graduation in Bachelor of Arts (Distance Education) from National College, Mumbai. She is known for her roles in blockbusters including Baahubali as well as chirpy roles.

7. Nayantara

Making her acting debut in the 2003 Malayalam film Manassinakkare, is one of the most talented actresses and best known for the most beautiful South Indian actresses in this era. The actress completed her education in Tiruvalla, at Balikamadom Girls Higher Secondary School. She then attended Marthoma College for her bachelors degree in English Literature. If she wouldn’t be an actress she would have become a Chartered Accountant (CA).


8. Samantha Ruth

Samantha Ruth Prabhu started her career just five years back and she’s already reached one of the richest actresses in South Indian film industry in 2015. Samantha is one of the most beautiful South Indian actresses who has beauty as well as awesome caring skills. The actress completed her schooling from St.Stephens Matriculation school, Chennai and Higher secondary in Holy Angels Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, T.Nagar. She has done her graduation in commerce from Stella Maris College, Chennai.

9. Priyamani

Priyamani who mostly appears in South Indian films. She gained huge popularity with the Tamil film Paruthiveeran, for which she won National Film Award and Tamilnadu State Film Award. She has completed schooling from Sri Aurobindo Memorial School and Bishop Cotton Women’s College in J C Road. Later, she has also completed a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. After her education she entered modelling industry.

10. Amala Paul

Amala Paul is an Indian film actress, who works in the South Indian Film Industry. The actress completed her higher secondary education at Aluva govt Higher Secondary school. Later joined St Teresa’s college, to pursue a B.A. degree in communicative English.
