Born on March 14, 1965, Sarvadaman D. Banerjee hails from Magarwara, Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. His alma maters are St. Aloysius School, Kanpur, and the Pune Film Institute.

Banerjee got into acting in the year 1983. He made his debut from the film Adi Shankaracharya, where he was seen playing the lead role.
