1. Dhanush
Although we have judged him like a ‘clingy guy with unrequited love’ before his movie Raanjhanaa, Dhanush is an amazing actor in South India. Before gaining his stardom with the name with the song Kolaveri D, the actor has appeared in about 25 movies and along with it has won the Best Actor award at the 58th National Film Awards for his stunning performance in the movie Aadukalam.
2. Asin Thottumkal
Even before the release of her movie Ghajini in which she was cast opposite Aamir Khan, Asin was already recognised with the title ‘Queen of Kollywood’. Asin had a great name and fame in the South Indian film industry and has also dubbed movies in about eight languages. She is widely known across for movies such as Sivakasi, Varalaru, and Pokkiri, all of the movies above are among the blockbusters in the south Indian industry.
3. Diljit Dosanjh
Diljit Dosanjh who’s songs we couldn’t stop listening has done some amazing acting in movies like Udta Punjab, but Diljit already appeared in Punjabi movies such as 1984, Jatt And Juliet, Sardaarji etc.
4. Jimmy Shergill
Though his debut movie was Gulzaar’s Maachis, his supporting roles are well-acknowledged in Bollywood industry. Before his supporting role, back home, Jimmy is included among romantic hero, the reason being Mel Karade Rabba, Mannat, Yaaran Naal Baharan, Dharti and it continues.
5. R. Madhavan
Before appearing as a character named Maddy in the movie Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, R. Madhavan already appeared in few Tamil Film industry. With the Mani Ratnam’s Alaipayuthey, R. Madhavan had achieved a picture of a romantic hero. He was also appreciated for amazing roles in two of 2001’s highest-earning Tamil films, Gautham Menon’s directorial debut Minnale and Madras Talkies’ Dumm Dumm Dumm.
6. Rajnikanth
How can we not include ‘Thalaiva’ of the two biggest industries south Indian industry and the Bollywood industry? There is no introduction needed for the man who is worshipped for his films. He appeared in Bollywood movies like Chaalbaaz and Hum, but particularly remains a precious jewel of South India.
7. Sridevi
The first-ever female star of Bollywood industry, Sridevi began her career as a child actor in M.A. Thirumugham’s devotional Thunaivan at the age of the mere four years. Although her debut film in Bollywood was Julie, Sridevi appeared at an age of 13 within the Tamil film Moondru Mudichu.
8. Sharmila Tagore
The girl who was known as ‘Kashmir Ki Kali’ and startled Bollywood with her cute dimples and her role opposite Rajesh Khanna began her career with Bengali movies. Her debut movie was Satyajit Ray’s 1959 Bengali film Apur Sansar and eventually became a popular face in the Bengali film industry with movies like Shesh Anka, Niranjan Saiketan, Aranyer Din Ratri etc.
9. Prabhas
This Baahubali actor, Prabhas was already recognised as a celebrity in the Telugu film industry before his big release. With his Bollywood movie Saaho, he has done various films such as Varsham, Chatrapathi, Chakram, Billa, Darling, Mr Perfect, and Mirchi.
10. Rana Daggubati
He gained wide fame in Bollywood with his movies like Baby and was also appeared in Dum Maaro Dum, Rana has a huge fan crowd in South tracing back to his Baahubali fame. He is an actor, producer, photographer and is widely known in the Telugu and Tamil film industry.
11. Kamal Haasan
Although he is very popular in Bollywood for his movies like Chachi 420 and Sadma, he began his career as a child actor in Tamil films. He eventually won a National Award owing to his film, Moondram Pirai. He received his first-ever Filmfare award for Malayali movie named Kanyakumari.
12. Taapsee Pannu
Tapsee who is software engineer began her career into Bollywood with modelling and debuted with Telugu film, Jhummandi Naadam. She appeared in some good projects like Aadukalam, VastaduNaa Raju, and Mr Perfect, in the Tamil industry.
