1.Shah Rukh was thought as Munna, Dutt as Circuit in the movie Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003)
The movie Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. is definitely beyond description. The movie is both funny and delivers a message at the same time. And the actors Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani, and Gracy Singh have performed incredibly well. Now if I say to imagine Shahrukh Khan as Munna Bhai and Sanjay Dutt as Circuit, as thought by the producer Vidhu Vinod, it appears odd. Isn’t it?
But Shahrukh Khan was not able to take up this movie because of his bad health. And we are all thankful that he didn’t.
2. Kaho Na Pyaar Hai that marked Hrithik’s entry was offered to SRK (2000)
Kaho Na Pyaar hai which made Hrithik Roshan position firm in Bollywood was initially offered to the Shahrukh Khan. Hritik Roshan put forward his opinion in front of his father Roshan that they should launch a new face in Bollywood through this movie as he has performed a huge number of films with Shahrukh Khan. In the same year, Shahrukh Khan appeared in the film Mohabbatein and Josh.
3. Shah Rukh didn’t want to play second fiddle to Aamir in Rang De Basanti (2006)
Rang De Basanti is no doubt Bollywood’s one legendary film. The film cast Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, R. Madhavan, Kunal Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan who performed brilliantly.
The role played by R. Madhavan of an Air force pilot was initially offered to Shahrukh Khan but Shahrukh didn’t take up the movie because he didn’t want to play a character secondary to Amir Khan.
4. SRK was offered to play Bhuvan in Lagaan (2001)
Just after Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, Shahrukh Khan rejected rejected another landmark film that also went on to become an Oscar nomination, Lagaan.
The director of the film Ashutosh Gowariker wanted Shahrukh Khan to play the character of Bhuvan which was played by Amir Khan and which opened the path of success in Amir’s career.
Initially Aamir Khan was also not impressed with the Lagaan script initially, and had called it a “bizarre thought and a strange story.”
5. Danny Boyle visited SRK’s residence, the actor refused to meet him for Slumdog Millionaire (2008)
The movie Slumdog Millionaire directed by Danny Boyle was a historic movie in the stream of Bollywood which won eight Academy Awards.
Anil Kapoor who played the character of Prem Kumar who was a quiz master should be thankful to Shahrukh Khan for the appreciations he still receives and the reason is the role of Prem Kumar was offered to Shahrukh Khan first. Danny went to Mannat to meet Shahrukh Khan for the movie, but Shahrukh Khan didn’t show up and the movie was eventually offered to Anil Kapoor.
6. The superstar was not comfortable with shooting locations for the movie Jodhaa Akbar (2008)
Gowariker has the wish of working with Shahrukh Khan as he offered him the role in Jodhaa Akbar to Shahrukh Khan. But the actor refused as he didn’t like the location of the shooting and at the same time wanted to spend some time with his family. Hritik Roshan, later on, played the character Akbar and Aishwarya Rai as Jodhaa.
7.SRK had a fallout with director Shankar over the script and Computer Graphics in the movie Robot (2010)
This one might appear surprising but it is the truth. Shahrukh Khan left the movie Robot because he wished to make some changes in the script and apparently S Shankar denied it.
Another reason for his walkout was the fact that S Shankar wished that the movie’s Computer Graphics should be taken up by Hollywood’s Stan Winston studio and on the other hand Shahrukh Khan wanted Red Chillies VFX to take up the work.
8. SRK called himself “4th Idiot” for rejecting Raju Hirani’s 3 Idiots ( 2009)
Shahrukh Khan in the year 2016 called himself a “4th idiot” for not taking up Hirani’s iconic movie due to date issue. Shahrukh was offered the character of Rancho which was eventually brilliantly played by Amir Khan.
In the year 2009, Shah Rukh Khan was cast in two films, Billu which was produced by him, starring Irrfan Khan and Lara Dutt, and Luck By Chance, and neither of them was full-fledged roles.
