1. Govinda
Govinda is known for being the one who is the “swag-man” of Bollywood. He smiles and is the coolest person behind the cameras. Father of Tina Ahuja and Yashvardhan Govinda. But he suffered one of the biggest heartaches. He lost his 4 months old baby girl.
2. Jagjit Singh
Remember the song, Chithi Na Koi Sandesh where you used to pour your heart and tears out thinking of your ex after 2 bottled down? Yes, that song is not just a normal melancholic song, but it actually was written by the songwriter after he faced some serious personal life blunders.
Jagjit and Chitra lost their 20 year old son in a car accident in 1990. They couldn’t bear the loss and Chitra took a break from the music industry while Jagjit Singh returned after an year, only to express sorrow through his music. Chitra’s daughter from her first marriage and Jagjit Singh’s step daughter also committed suicide after her failed marriage in 2009.

3. Kabir Bedi
The Bollywood actor has had four marriages till now. And he is currently a father of two children. He was initially a father of three, but Siddharth was diagnosed with mental disability, schizophrenia, and he committed suicide when he was 26 year old. Kabir tried his best to save his son’s life, perhaps it wasn’t in his fate and he ended up losing his son.
4. Asha Bhosle
One of the finest playback singers of the Bollywood industry, Asha Bhosle has sung over 12,000 songs and has given the biggest contributions to the music industry. Sister of playback singer Lata Mangeshkar, Asha eloped with Ganpatrao Bhosle when she was just 16 years old and married him against her family wishes.
Though they marked their separation in 1960, they have three children from their marriage – Hemant Bhosle, a former pilot and a music director, Varsha a columnist for Rediff and The Sunday Observer, and the youngest, Anand Bhosle. Out of them, her daughter, Varsha Bhosle committed suicide at the age of 56 years on 8 October 2012. And, not only her daughter, but her eldest son Hemant, who left the world due to cancer in 2015.

5. Mehmood
Regarded as one of the finest veteran comedians of the Bollywood industry, Mehmood is still remembered for his performance as Master Pillai in the film Padosan. With the quirky looks and brilliant speech delivery style adapted by the actor in the film especially in the song segment, Ek Chatur is still remembered and loved by the fans. The actor also suffered the loss, his youngest son Macky Ali who suffered from cardiac arrest.
6. Anuradha Paudwal
Looks like the various singers of the industry have been hiding a huge pain behind their voices! Another prominent Indian playback singer, Anuradha Paudwal also went through the loss of a child. After getting married to the music composer, Arun Paudwal, Anuradha embraced motherhood by giving birth to a daughter Kavita and a son, Aditya. And last year, the singers son Aditya lost his life following a kidney failure.

7. Moushumi Chatterjee
One of the brilliant actresses of her time and one of the highest-paid actress of the 1970s Moushumi Chatterjee is well recognized for her work in both Bengali and Hindi cinema. Now inclined towards making a political career, the former actress joined BJP back in 2019. With her appearance in several acclaimed Bollywood oldies, the actress was highly praised for her performance back then.
However, the actress also stands amongst those who suffered the loss of a child. After tying the knot to Jayanta Mukherjee, she became mother to two daughters – Payal and Megha. Payal lost after prolonged illness aged 45. She was diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes and was bed ridden.
8. Shekhar Suman
Marrying Alka Suman back in 1983, the Bollywood anchor, producer, actor, and singer Shekhar Suman became a father to two sons – Aayush and Adhyayan Suman. While Adhyayan Suman was seen in the movies as an actor, his elder son Aayush said goodbye to the world at the mere age of 11 years following a heart ailment.
