Bollywood is a massive industry with individuals flocking from all over the world to try their luck. Every year, a number of films are released, introducing us to new characters. Unfortunately, some musicians never make it big and never appear on screen again. Surviving in the entertainment sector is difficult, and only two out of every ten persons who work here succeed in gaining a place in the hearts of the audience. Even if one gets celebrity, it is difficult to please the viewers, so it does not last long.

Bollywood’s well-known performers and actresses are well-known to us. Even if they choose to leave the profession years ago to pursue their passion, some of them still have a big name in the industry. These are Bollywood celebrities who left the entertainment profession to pursue other interests.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra


Shilpa Shetty, who is now the wife of businessman Raj Kundra, began her career as a model while she was in her teens. In 1993, she made her Bollywood debut with the film Baazigar. She rose to international stardom after winning the British reality TV show Big Brother Season 5 after a big success in Indian cinema. Following her marriage to Raj Kundra, the actress retired from acting and now appears as a judge on reality shows. She currently works as a social worker, fitness influencer, and restaurateur. Shilpa and her husband also own an IPL team. The actress made a reappearance this year in the film Hungama 2.

Twinkle Khanna


The actress is the daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, two well-known Indian actors. She is also the wife of Akshay Kumar, a well-known actor. Twinkle Khanna left Bollywood years ago to pursue her dream of becoming a book. Mrs. Funnybones is one of her best-selling books. She is a multitalented woman who also works as a producer for Mrs. Funnybones Movies, her own production company. Aside from that, the actress founded Tweak India, a new-age digital content company, and is also an interior designer.

Preity Zinta


Preity Zinta is the most beautiful actress of her generation. She was a successful actress who portrayed many parts as a youthful, vivacious girl in Hindi films. Soldier, Veer-Zaara, Kya Kehna, Kal Ho Na Ho, and many others were among her Bollywood blockbusters. Preity quit Bollywood to start her own production company, PZNZ Media, and has been a co-owner of the Kings XI Punjab cricket team since 2008. Aside from that, she has been the owner of the Stellenbosch Kings, a South African T20 Global League cricket team, since 2017.

 Karishma Kapoor


The actress is a member of the illustrious Kapoor family and is popularly known as LoLo. Karishma is still regarded as one of the most attractive actresses of her generation. Dil To Pagal Hai, Hum Saath-Saath Hai, Biwi no.1, Judwaa, and Andaz Apna Apna were among her Bollywood box office hits. Karishma wanted to achieve enormous success in a short period of time, so she left Bollywood and is now a co-investor in the Babyoye children’s business.

Sushmita Sen


Sushmita Sen has made a name for herself in Bollywood. She is a model and actress who won the Miss Universe and Femina Miss India competitions in 1994. Sushmita has been in a number of Bollywood films and has become well-known for her outstanding performance. Dastak, Aaghaaz, Biwi No. 1, and Mai Hoon Na are some of her films. The actress opted to leave Bollywood and found success as a producer with her own company, Tantra Entertainment.

Sonali Bendre


The Indian actress is best known for her work in Hindi cinema, but she has also appeared in films in Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, and Kannada. Her first Hindi film, Aag, was released in 1994, and she starred alongside Govinda. She went on to star in Bollywood films such as Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Bombay, and Lajja, among others. Bheegi Basanti Entertainment is the production firm that the Indian actress turned entrepreneur founded after quitting her acting profession. With the moniker Chabra 555, she also has her own designer saree collection. She predominantly worked in Hindi films during her career. The actress won the Miss Universe pageant in 2000 and was also crowned Miss Intercontinental in 1997. The actress made her Bollywood comeback recently with the film Bell Bottom. The film was released in theatres as well as on other OTT platforms.

Soha Ali Khan


Soha Ali Khan was born into the Pataudi family and is a real-life princess. She is the sister of actor Saif Ali Khan and the daughter of famed 70s actress Sharmila Tagore. Soha Ali Khan made her acting debut in the 2004 film Dil Maange More. The film was a romantic comedy in which she appeared alongside Shahid Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, and Tulip Joshi, all of whom are well-known Bollywood actors. She left the business after working in a few Bollywood films, including Rang De Basanti, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Tum Mile, and others, and is now a novelist. The Perils of Being Moderately Famous, her best-selling novel, was written by her.

Sahil Khan


In 2001, the uber hot actor made his Bollywood debut in the film Style. The actor only lasted a few years in the industry, leaving after his first film. He then established his own gym and fitness training centre chain in Goa. The actor made a reappearance in 2010 with the film Ramaa: The Saviour, after which he did not appear on the big screen again. He is still a personal trainer and owns and operates gyms.

Kim Sharma


Kim Sharma was a phenomenal performer. She made her acting debut in Bollywood’s most successful love film, Mohabbatein, in 2000, and quickly gained a large following. Kim also appeared in the critically acclaimed film Fida. She took a step back after her great career in the entertainment world and decided to open Liaison, a bridal grooming business.

Dipannita Sharma


Dipannita Sharma is an actress and model from India. She appeared in a number of Hindi films, including Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, Jodi Breakers, and others. Her films did not perform well, and her acting career did not thrive. She then stopped acting and became the owner of the Shazam luxury yacht.

Kumar Gaurav


Kumar Gaurav is the son of Rajendra Kumar, a well-known Bollywood actor. Mayoori Kangoo debuted in Bollywood with the National Award-winning film Naseem in 1995. She appeared in a number of other popular films, including Papa Kehte Hain and Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet. Her most recent appearance was in the film Papa the Great. Soon after, the actress left the glamorous world behind. She presently lives in Gurgaon and works as the Industry Head, Agency Business, for Google India.



The stunning actress is well known for her part in the critically acclaimed film Ram Teri Ganga Maili. She retired from acting in 1996 and last appeared in the film Zordaar. Mandakini abandoned her illustrious profession to serve as a Tibetan yoga instructor in Mumbai.

Despite the fact that these celebs left Bollywood early, their fan base remains the same.
