Bhumi Pednekar’s upcoming thriller ‘Bhakshak’ teaser was released on January 18. The film will be released on February 09 on streaming platform Netflix. The film is made under Shah Rukh Khan’s banner Red Chillies Entertainment and is produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma. Pulkit directs the movie. It also features Sanjay Mishra and Sai Tamhankar.
Bhumi Pednekar has put on the shoes of an investigative journalist in this thriller. As Vaishali Singh, she uncovers dark secrets and crimes against women at a shelter home in Munawwarpur. The teaser description on YouTube (Netflix India) says, “Who will solve the mystery of this untold city?” The movie is claimed to be inspired by true events. Towards the end of the teaser, Pednekar is shown saying, “Bachchon ke adhikar ke liye lad rahe hain hum, samajh rahi ho? (I’m fighting for the rights of girls, are you getting it?)".

The film marks Pednekar’s return to a film with a message for the society. Her earlier films like 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha', 'Bala', 'Raksha Bandhan' and others have been lauded for their storyline and messages.
