Golmaal 5 is Coming!: Director Rohit Shetty Promises Bigger and Better Comedy in Two Years

Rohit Shetty, the director known for his slapstick comedies like the Golmaal series, confirmed that a fifth installment is definitely happening! This news comes as Shetty promotes his first web series, Indian Police Force, but fans rejoice, Golmaal is not forgotten.

Shetty, speaking to Pinkvilla, assured fans that "Golmaal 5 will happen for sure." Acknowledging the immense love for the franchise, he said, "Looking at the response, I will have to make it a little soon. I think you will get Golmaal 5 in the next 2 years."

But here's the exciting part: Shetty doesn't just plan to replicate the same old magic. He wants to crank things up a notch, making Golmaal 5 bigger and better than ever before.

"Cinema in today's time has to be grand and bigger than the likes of All The Best and Golmaal, which I made back in the day," explained Shetty. "By big, I don't mean action. I can't add action in Golmaal, but I can amp up the scale in the genre. There are so many fans of Golmaal, and I am making this brand for the fans. The next Golmaal film has to be bigger, and better though it's a comedy franchise," he emphasized.

This means we can expect even more hilarious situations, more over-the-top pranks, and maybe even some bigger sets and visual effects. While Shetty keeps the plot under wraps, one thing's for sure: he's not aiming for just another laugh-a-minute flick. He wants to give Golmaal fans a grand experience that surpasses all previous installments.

But wait, there's more! Shetty also hinted at exploring other genres beyond the cop universe, which he's currently diving into with Indian Police Force. "Even I feel the need to make a film like Chennai Express," he said. "If I crack a story which is good and grand, I will make a fresh film."

So, while we eagerly await Golmaal 5's arrival in the next couple of years, it seems Shetty has plenty more surprises in store for us. Get ready for laughter, action, and maybe even a little bit of drama, because Rohit Shetty is keeping things fresh and exciting, both on the big screen and now, on the digital platform.

P.S. Don't forget to catch Shetty's directorial debut in the web series Indian Police Force, premiering on January 19, 2024, on Prime Video!
