An old video of Aamir Khan and Twinkle Khanna having fun at an event hosted by Karan Johar has popped up again. In the video, they talk about the movie "Mela" they were in together, which didn't do well at all.
Aamir jokingly said that Twinkle wasn't a great actress. Twinkle laughed and told a story about how Aamir once asked her why she wasn't focused on her work. She said she was thinking about Akshay Kumar (her now-husband), and Aamir almost slapped her! Aamir was surprised to hear this and said he wouldn't have reacted that way.
Karan Johar then joked that Twinkle might not have been good at acting, but she was great at insulting people. Twinkle, who's known for her witty remarks, told a funny story about how she once saw Aamir crying behind a rock on the set of "Mela." The director, Dharmesh Darshan, hadn't listened to one of Aamir's ideas, and Aamir, who's very serious about his work, was upset.
Aamir just smiled at Twinkle's teasing.
"Mela" was released in 2000 and was a big failure. It starred Aamir Khan and Twinkle Khanna and was directed by Dharmesh Darshan, who had made the hit movie "Raja Hindustani" before. People didn't like "Mela" because it was a confusing mix of action, romance, and drama.
After "Mela," Twinkle Khanna stopped acting. She had once said on a talk show that she told Akshay Kumar she would only marry him if the movie failed. Since then, she's become a successful author and often jokes about her not-so-great acting career.
