Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Vettaiyan marks his reunion with Amitabh Bachchan on the sets, after their 1991 film Hum together. During the recent audio launch event for Vettaiyan, Amitabh Bachchan recalled some candid moments with Rajinikanth and also revealed how the star slept on the floor without caring. Big B, though not present at the premiere of Vettaiyan, conveyed his best wishes to the entire team in a specially recorded video that was played during the event. He shared, “During the shooting of Hum, I would rest in my air-conditioned vehicle and Rajini would sleep on the floor during breaks.”

Amitabh Bachchan especially praised Rajinikanth’s modesty and said, “Seeing how simple he was, I got out of the vehicle and rested outside.” The Bollywood icon poured out his heart and praised Rajinikanth as the “supreme of all stars” he has ever met. He said, “Vettaiyan is my first Tamil film, I am very honoured. Rajinikanth is the supreme of all stars.”
Continuing his remarks, Amitabh Bachchan recalled his collaboration with Rajinikanth in the 1991 film Hum, directed by Mukul S Anand. The two actors had played the role of brothers in the earlier film.

Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, will hit the theatres on October 10, 2024. The film marks the return of Rajinikanth in the iconic role of the cop and the glimpses so far, along with some of the songs released, have already given hints about the massive entertainment the film promises to be.
As for the cast of the film, some of the most talented names from across the film world have been roped in to play the pivotal roles in the film. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth, they include Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Rao Ramesh, Ritika Singh and others.
