There has been a lot of talk about the Bollywood mafia and the terrible nepotism that runs in Bollywood. Some have been spoken about and made into a public issue, but some have not been covered by media and given the limelight to call the goons out. But during several incidents and casual conversations celebrities do talk about the heinous moves pulled over them.
Some of the actors who talked about how the Bollywood goons affected them and their career in Bollywood are listed down below:
1. Abhinav Kashyap said that Salman Khan ruined his career
Abhinav Kashyap said that actor Salman Khan reported ruined his career in the industry. Before he spread his wing to fly and put on a good place, Salman and Arbaaz Khan acted as the huge barrier towards it. Abhinav Kashyap posted this on Facebook, revealing the ugly side of Salman Khan.
“Mr. Salman Khan and his family sabotaged the release of the film and got their PROs to run a sustained negative smear campaign against me and my film Besharam before release. This scared the distributors from buying my film. Reliance Entertainment and I were capable and courageous enough to release the film ourselves but the battle had just begun. My enemies, which there were many ran a sustained negative Trolling and badmouthing campaign against the film till the Box Office of my film collapsed.”
2. Manoj Bajpayee said that the industry does not respect outsiders
In an interview with Wion Bajpayee said that the industry is wasting talent, he said,
“I have said it before that this industry has wasted talent; so much that in any other country those talents who have not been given their due here.”
He went on to add industry operates and differentiates to outsiders,
“How come I survived in this industry, an industry that doesn’t have respect for people from outside? So much so, if a good film is getting bad box office then forget about the industry as they will anyway criticise you whether you make a good film or a bad film, whether you give a good performance or a bad performance — the mainstream critics and the trade analysts will jump on it and they will try to prove that it’s a bad film because the box office is not that great.”
3. Kangana Ranaut on Bollywood transparency
Kangana Ranaut kinda gets tagged as the one who lost her mind in recent days. Though it indeed is true considering the amount of bullshit she speaks just for the clout. But she has been very transparent about Bollywood and its favoritism. She said that Mahesh Bhatt threw a slipper at her cause she refused to do his film. Media badmouthed about her just to ruin her reputation. And Aditya Chopra threatened her because she rejected to do a film with Salman Khan.
4. AR Rahman revealed that a gang is not letting him bag Bollywood projects
Late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput‘s film Dil Bechara had AR Rahman as the lead singer for some of its songs. But we often hear a lot of stuff where AR Rahman so-called, ‘refuse’ to do big projects When asked about the same, AR Rahman replied to that saying,
“I don’t say no to good movies, but I think there is a gang, which, due to misunderstandings, is spreading some false rumors.”
The fact he mentioned the word, ‘gang makes its clearer for us to believe that there do exists some in Bollywood which creates drama regarding the big personalities.’
5. Raveena Tandon revealed that there are people in industry who plan your failure
Raveena revealed Bollywood allegedly has a girl gang and camps which kinda plans on the downfall of actors in the industry. She also said she has been a part of the effect caused by the gangs of Bollywood and since now it doesn’t affect her, she openly talks about it. During an interview with Hindustan Times Raveena revealed,
“There are bad people who do plan your failure; I’ve been through it. They are the ones who would want to see you down and removed from films. It’s literally like classroom politics. They play games.”
6. Resul Pookutty said no one gave him work after he won an Oscar
After he won the Oscar, Resul did not get any Bollywood projects. He revealed that he went through a complete breakdown just because he was not given any films by Bollywood after he was given the Oscar. Shekhar also mentioned that Oscar is the kiss of death in Bollywood.
7. Amit Sadh told that he was banned by TV industry for being outspoken
Amit was banned by the TV industry just because he was outspoken and spoke out some very harsh truths. Sadh told Bollywood Hungama during an interview,
“They called each other and said isko kaam mat do. Toh phir maine kaha, ‘Achcha? Nahi de rahe ho? Toh phir main picturon mein jaaunga.”
Revealing how badly he was mistreated just because he was outspoken and kinda did lead to some bad secrets about Bollywood getting revealed in the thin air.
8. Sonu Nigam
‘Music Mafia’ apparently crushes singers and talents in the industry as said by Sonu Nigam. During an interview, he said that the music mafia is allegedly bigger than the whole Bollywood industry itself. New and old talents get manipulated by the mafia and sometimes they get forced. He even shared couple of videos on Instagram accusing T-Series and Bhushan Kumar of being the music mafia. Singers like Kailash Kher, Monali Thakur, Kunal Ganjawala and Salim Merchant even agreed with him.
9. Divya Dutta says she got replaced in multiple movies
Expressing her struggle in the industry and her views on groupism and favouritism Divya Dutta told ETimes in an interview,
“It used to feel like a huge sense of loss, coming and being rejected or being told on the phone that someone else has been roped in. I’ve been dropped out of many movies at the last minute so that hurts because you feel sheer helplessness because you know how good you could’ve been in that role.”
10. Govinda was avoided by Bollywood during his bad phase
In a interview with Republic TV Bollywood veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha revealed that Govinda was shunned by the industry, he said,
“I saw how his film, which was in production, was taken over due to some people. The film was already made but he still had to suffer through all of this.”
11. Ranvir Shorey
Ranvir never failed to deliver his audience with very good and shocking performances that too back to back. But as we all know, due to the amount of talent-less kids in Bollywood who holds the position just because of nepotism couldn’t face the challenge a lot of professionals have been put down Something similar happened to Ranvir. In an interview with Hindustan Times, he revealed,
“Yes, that (Bhatts) is what I am talking about. I was professionally and socially isolated, equally pressured from all ends. Every chance and every platform they would get, they would be lying about me, saying I am an alcoholic and abuser. You feel so helpless and powerless because these people are so powerful that the press will just listen to them and not even bother calling you for your side of the story. You just feel so helpless and frustrated because you can’t do anything about it. It got really toxic for me at the time and I had to leave the country for a while.”
