Having a baby which results in having a happy addition to ones family is perhaps the best thing that can happen to a couple. Pregnancy is tough and it does take a toll on the mother’s health, but the happiness in imagining that what she has inside is something beyond happiness. But the worst part is losing your unborn child, due to complications, , and that is termed as miscarriage.

There are many Bollywood and Television celebrities who went through miscarriage, below is the list:

1. Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra

The couple got married in the year 2009 and in the year 2012, they had their first child, Viaan. But before that Shilpa was pregnant after few months of her marriage, but that did not go well which resulted in her losing her child because of miscarriage. The couple was devastated and she initially thought she’ll never be able to have a baby again because she was diagnosed with APLs, which disrupts pregnancy in women.

During an event, while talking about life and topics related to that she opened up about this tough phase of her life,

“I am going to share with you my experience of motherhood or rather my journey to motherhood. So when I discovered I was pregnant for the first time, I was overjoyed. And then I had a miscarriage and it was devastating. I thought I had never gotten pregnant again. And then I was diagnosed with APL syndrome. Imagine someone as healthy as me was diagnosed with APLS and I was very frightened. I feel when you think of motherhood, it should be a very joyous experience, not a fearful one.”

2. Kajol and Ajay Devgn

Kajol and Ajay Devgn got married in the year 1999. Their first child was Naysa was born in the year 2003. But that was not their first time Kajol getting pregnant. In the year 2001, Kajol was pregnant but after 6 weeks of pregnancy, they learned that it was an ectopic pregnancy, which made the child a danger to Kajol’s life.

Thus they had to go through a miscarriage to provide Kajol a healthy life. Though the couple is happy with 2 kids, Naysa and Yug. Ajay did refer to this situation and said,

“Yes, we have lost our baby, but we have no regrets. it was an ectopic pregnancy. Kajol’s life was in danger. as soon as the doctors informed us that they would have to operate, we both gave them the go-ahead. Of course, both of us were thrilled when we learned of the pregnancy following a blood test. still, if not today, tomorrow we will look forward to starting a family.”

3. Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan

Back in 2005, Kiran and Aamir got married. In 2009, Kiran was pregnant with their first child but eventually, they lost the child due to miscarriage. Aamir was the one who talked about the whole scenario. Later on, the couple thought of giving IVF a shot, and had their first baby through IVF surrogacy. In 2011 they were blessed with a baby boy and they named him, Azad.

“Kiran and I lost our baby. Despite our best efforts, we were unable to avert a miscarriage. The last 2 months have been a struggle for us. Ki and I need time to heal.”

4. Fardeen Khan and Natasha Madhvani

In the year 2005, Fardeen Khan got married to Natasha Madhvani, his childhood sweetheart. Few years into the marriage the couple shared the news of their pregnancy and they were expecting twins. But, unfortunately, due to complications Natasha went through miscarriage. This was indeed devastating and heart shattering for the couple, but a year after they welcomed their first kid and named her, Diana Isabelle Khan and in 2017 they had their baby boy namely, Azarius Fardeen Khan.

When Fardeen talked about the miscarriage, he said,

“As delighted as we were to announce Natasha’s pregnancy, I am equally saddened to say she had a late miscarriage. Most importantly Natasha is in good health and can try again. This half-pint I married is a warrior in every sense.”

5. Sofia Hayat and Vlad Stanescu

Though the couple did not had a successful marriage and perhaps had one of the most short lived weddings. After 2 months of announcing her pregnancy Sofia shared the sad news of miscarriage. When Sofia announced her divorced on social media she also announced about her miscarriage mentioning the reason behind that was a lot of stress that she went through. In one of the interview Sofia said,

“It has been a harrowing time for me. I lost my baby a month ago and I think it was because of all the things that were happening between us. I was upset and crying a lot.”

6. Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Ganguly

In the year 2010, the couple got married on the national television. Soon after their marriage, they announced the news of pregnancy, but in a few weeks Dimpy reported and accused her husband of domestic violence, which initially resulted on her miscarriage.

She filed her divorcer with him and now she’s happily married to Rohit Roy, the couple is happy with their daughter named Reanaa.

7. Gauri Khan and Shah Rukh Khan

The iconic couple of Bollywood and the one which is looked upon the most. They have been married for the past 26 years now and are currently blessed with 3 children. Though this is not known to many but Gauri had a miscarriage in 1997. This was revealed by Shah Rukh in Sajid Khan’s show, Yaaron Ki Baraat. Talking about Gauri’s miscarriage, SRK said,

“Before Aryan, there were some miscarriages but then when he was born, a couple of days were difficult. Suhana was a girl so that was exciting, as Gauri and I, both of us always wanted a girl first. But it happened second.”

8. Pulkit Samrat and Shweta Rohira

Pulkit and Shweta has an extravagant wedding in the year 2014, but the marriage ended in just one year in 2015. It was revealed that Pulkit had an extra-marital affair with his co-star Yami Gautam in the set of the film, Sanam Re.

After the divorce Shweta said that she had a miscarriage because of the stress she went through back in 2015, but Pulkit addressed that she had the miscarriage back in 2013 and she was using it then, just to gain sympathy out of the whole situation.

9. Rashami Desai and Nandish Sandhu

In the year 2012 Rashami and Nandish got married. According to reports Rashami fell in love with her co-star in the sets of Uttaran. But they got divorced in the year 2016.

During a reality show, Rashami talked about her miscarriage where she said that it happened in 2012 and took a toll on her mental health.

10. Rangoli Ranaut and Ajay Chandel

Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli  got married to her childhood love Ajay in the year 2011. They gave birth to a boy in the year 2017. But in the year 2016, Rangoli went though a miscarriage and that was the main reason she took time off from work. The family friend (sort of) did speak about the whole situation,

“Rangoli suffered a miscarriage just before she went for Simran’s shoot with sister Kangana. So this time she had to be very careful and had to take care of her. Hence she took time off from work.”

11. Ankita Bhargava and Karan Patel

In 2015, Karan and Ankita married in an arranged marriage and were about to become parents. The baby of Karan and Ankita was expected to arrive in November 2018. However, an awful tragedy occurred, and the couple ended up losing their unborn baby. Ankita was four months pregnant at the time and in ecstasy. A day before this tragic miscarriage, they were at an award event, chatting away about their soon-to-arrive kid.

The announcement of Ankita’s miscarriage was confirmed by her father. The couple’s representative later issued statements, saying:

“I would urge all media personnel to please allow Karan and Ankita Karan Patel enough time to deal with the miscarriage. It is a difficult time for them individually and for the families involved. This sudden turn of events happened a few days ago and ever since we have tried to keep it low key, only so that we allow them enough time to cope with it.”
