Brahmanandam Kanneganti is a famous Indian actor and comedian. He is known for his roles in Tollywood industry. The legendary actor currently holds the Guinness World Record for ‘most screen credits for a living actor’. In the year 2015, he had successfully finished 1000 movies in less than 30 years of his cinematic career.

Guinness Book of the world is a reference book enlisting every extraordinary human achievement and the unnatural most diverse events of the natural world. On this note, we have listed some of the Guinness World Records Made By Indian Movies and Film Personalities.

1. Sameer Anjaan

Sameer Anjaan is known for his renowned lyrics in Bollywood and made it to the Guinness Book of World record for being the only Bollywood lyricist ever to composed 3,524 songs as of 15 December, 2015. Some of his popular songs include Jab Se Tere Naina (Saawariya), Tum Paas Aaye (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) and Nazar Ke Saamne (Aashiqui).

2. Asha Bhosle

Asha Bhosle has given back to back hits in Bollywood. She was included in Guinness Book of World record for the most recorded artist in music history in 2011. Sister of ‘Nightingale of Bollywood’, Lata Mangeshkar, the popular singer has recorded up to 11000 solo, duets and chorus backed songs and several others in more than 20 Indian languages since 1947. Some of her popular songs include Dum Maro Dum (Hare Rama Hare Krishna), Piya Tu Ab To Aaja (Caravan) and Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko (Yaadon Ki Baraat).

3. Kumar Sanu- Recorded maximum number of songs in a day

Kumar Sanu is no new name in the music industry. As a matter of fact he was considered as one of the most eminent singers of the 90s era in Bollywood . Some of his popular songs include like Tujhe Dekha Toh (Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge), Ek Ladki Ko Dekha (1942: A Love Story) and Do Dil Mil Rahe Hain (Pardes). He made Guinness World Records in 1993 for recording the maximum number of songs in a day, that is. He covered 28 songs in a single day.

4. Kapoor Family

The Kapoor family have acted in Bollywood films since Prithviraj Kapoor first appeared on the big screen in 1929 and the other members have followed his footsteps ever since. Thus such twenty four members from Kapoor family are presently working in the film industry and enlisted in the record book since 1999.

5. Baahubali: The Beginning

Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning made the Guinness World Record for making the largest poster of more than 50,000 sqft. The poster has an area of 4,793.65 m² (51,598.21 ft²)

6. Jagdish Raj- The most typecast actor

This veteran actor made the world record for being the most typecast actor. He has apprently played the role of a police inspector in 144 movies. Some of his popular films include Deewar, Don, Shakti and Silsila.

7. Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai

Hritik Roshan made his super hit debut in Bollywood with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai which went on to win 92 awards. It made entry into 2002 Guinness Book of World records for having the most number of awards for a movie.

8. Yaadein (1964)

The 1964 Yaadein made Guinness Book of World record as it featured only a single actor. Directed and produced by Sunil Dutt the movie also starred him. The only other actor in the film is Nargis Dutt. It won the award of the fewest actors in a narrative film.

9. Lalita Pawar

The actress holds the Guinness book of the world record for having the longest film career as an actress. Lalita Pawar made her debut at the age of 12 and acted continuously for 70 years. She has acted in more than 700 films.  

10. Paidi Jairaj

Paidi Jairaj made his debut in 1929 and acted for seventy years. He has acted in more than 300 films and was awarded Guinness Book of World record for being the Bollywood actor with the longest film career.

11. Indian film industry

Indian film industry is world’s most profitable movie-making nation, with a net gross production of 800 to 1,000 movies every year that is almost the double of the net creation produced by Hollywood. The Indian film industry made Guinness Book of World records in 2009, with a total of 1,288 films were being produced in 24 different languages.

12. Ashok Kumar

After his debut in Jeevan Naiya in 1936; this veteran actor has constantly acted in lead roles in many popular movies. He is popularly called ‘Dadamoni’ and acted continuously for 63 years. He made Guinness Book of the world record for the longest Bollywood career in leading roles.

13. PK

This super-hit movie by Aamir Khan was the most successful Indian film of all-time, and it made Guinness Book of World Record for the highest box office film gross for a Bollywood film. PK made a worldwide gross of ₹ 6.22 billion as of January 2015.

14. Love and God (Kais Aur Laila)

This film has consumed more than 20 years to complete after the devastating death of Guru Dutt and then director K. Asif in 1971. Later Sanjeev Kapoor took the lead in 1986, and the film was completed eventually.  The film eventually made the world record for having the longest production of a Bollywood film.
