He played junior artist role in big movies like Sarfarosh, Munnabhai MBBS, Shool, Black Friday and New York. But finally Gangs Of Wasseypur made him prove his worth.
Here are few interesting facts about Nawazuddin Siddiqui which most of you might not have heard of:
1. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is from Budhana a small town of Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh and his father was a farmer. He grew up with his nine siblings, seven brothers and two sisters.

2. Nawazuddin got married at a very young age with Anjali who stayed in his native village while he was struggling to get an acting job. They both stayed together faced odds and now they are blessed with a lovely daughter.
3. After completing his graduation from Kangri University in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, he worked as a chemist in a Petrochemical company for a short period of time then moved to Delhi and worked as a watchman.
4. While working as a watchman he joined theater and started watching plays as because he was very passionate about his dreams.

5. Nawazuddin graduated from the National School of Drama in 1996 before arriving to Mumbai.
6. Before going to Mumbai he has watched only 5 films. Nawaz used to practice imaginary scenes in front of mirror.
7. During his struggle times he tried to get role in several television shows or small roles in movies, but could not grab any. As nobody noticed his talent but kept rejecting him for his looks.

8. Nawazuddin played his first role as a waiter in ther movie ‘Shool’ (1999). Apart from this he has appeared on screen for few seconds in, ‘Sarfarosh'(1999); ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ (2003); and ‘The Bypass’ (2003).
9. Nawaz confessed that he had his first kiss with his co-star Niharika Singh in ‘Miss Lovely’; and he had never kissed anyone before not even his wife.
10. His dialogue delivery and expression for his role in ‘New York’, was so real that it made Irrfan khan filled with emotions.

11. In an interview Nawaz said, he wore same suit during Cannes festivals as he owned only one and kept repeating it. But no one realized that it was his same suit.
12. His acting idol is not any superstar, but a highly underrated powerhouse performer Ashish Vidyarthi.
13. He is an introvert, his friends confessed he generally sits silently he don’t like talking much.
14. Nawaz was offered the role of Manjhi because his struggle was closely related to that of manjhi, Nawaz was breaking the mountain of his life since fifteen years.
15. Nnawaz’s dream role is of Salim in Mughal-e-azam. “I know I can pull it off,” says Nawazuddin with confidence.
