For a lot of Bollywood actresses, their career in acting came to an end with marriage. We loved most of them on the silver screen and they had a huge presence but they chose marriage over acting. Even if it is their choice, we are a little sad we don't get to see them on the silver screen anymore.

1. Saira Bano
The stunning yesteryear beauty left acting after getting married to Bollywood's superstar, Dilip Kumar. She got married at the age of 22 and quit films thereafter.
2. Neetu Singh
A child actress who went on to acting in lead roles, Neetu Singh started dating Rishi Kapoor at an early age of 14 and got married when she was 21 after which, she retired from the film industry.

3. Mandakini
With films like Ram Teri Ganga Maili and Aakhri Baazi, the anglo-Indian actress made it to the list of A-list actresses in Bollywood. Even though a couple of her films released after her marriage in 1990, she quit Bollywood after she got married to a Buddhist monk. She is happy conducting Tibetan Yoga classes in Mumbai now.
4. Namrata Shirodkar
A favourite of many, Namrata Shirodkar, who worked in hit films like Vaastav and Bride and Prejudice, quit acting after tying the knot with Tollywood superstar, Mahesh Babu in 2005.

5. Bhagyashree
The beautiful actress, who made her super hit debut with Maine Pyaar Kiya got married and chose to take care of her family over her career.
6. Gayatri Joshi
After her super-duper hit debut in Swades, we never got to see Gayatri Sharma on the silver screen again. She got married to Vikas Oberoi, the Managing Director of Oberoi Constructions, in 2005 and gave up her career in acting.

7. Twinkle Khanna
Even if she did not deliver any ground breaking performances in Bollywood, she got married to Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and stopped working after her last film Love ke Liye Saala Kuch Bhi Karega. Now a successful columnist and an interior decorator, Twinkle Khanna kept herself off the big screen.
8. Meenakshi Sheshadri
After delivering some superhits like Damini, Ghayal and Hero, the beautiful Meenakshi Sheshadri stopped acting after marriage. She now lives in the US with her husband and two kids.

9. Nargis Dutt
Famous for her role in the movie Mother India, this charming and powerful actress got married to her co-star Sunil Dutt and chose to settle down with her husband and three children.
10. Babita
A well known actress back in her time, and talked about even now, Babita got married to actor Randhir Kapoor. She raised two daughters Karisma and Kareena Kapoor who grew up to dominate the frame in Bollywood.
