Movies with a low budget are considered to be in the mid to low range. 1. Samrat Prithviraj
One of the most anticipated and hyped films of 2022 by veteran actor Akshay Kumar had a lot of expectations from the netizens and fans in general. Samrat Prithviraj was a period drama based in the 12th century. A fearless Indian King Prithviraj Chauhan faces Mohammad Ghor but despite that, it failed to set the box office on fire. It was made on a budget of around Rs. 300 crores. However, it ended up collecting a lump sum of Rs. 90 crores. Samrat Prithviraj became one of the most expensive Bollywood flops.

2. Thugs Of Hindostan
Another worst Bollywood flop in the modern-day era of filmmaking was the 2018 movie that starred revered actor Aamir Khan and veteran superstar Amitabh Bachchan along with talented, beautiful actress Katrina Kaif. Despite making a decent enough opening at the box office, Thugs of Hindostan failed to maintain the grandeur and steam that it created. This movie went through a colossal loss earning only around Rs. 150 crores in India. It was made on a budget of Rs 300 crores.

3. Dhaakad
A 2022 movie Dhaakad starring talented actress Kangana Ranaut too, came out as a flop flick this year. Dhaakad is an action film. However, the audience finds that the storyline could be much better. It was made on a budget of Rs 85 crores but only received Rs 2.58 crores in return. However, the sleek action scenes and acting of Arjun Rampal were good as per the netizen’s wordings. Kangana Ranaut’s painstaking efforts in each action sequence are worthy of appreciation. Still, the film failed to create any sort of spark and turned out to be a box office failure. It is one of the most expensive Bollywood flops.

4. Race 3
Race 3 was a movie of 2018 that received a backlash on a large scale and a loss of a few crores at the box office. It was made with a budget of 180 crores and collected around 165 crores only. A high-budget action thriller piece with marvelous actors was not up to the mark to woo the audience.

5. Kites
Kites have some melodious songs from singers like KK and Vishal Dadlani. Still, the film failed to cover the costs invested in its making. Remarkable actor Hritik Roshan suffered a significant debacle with Kites. With many international scenes, this flop flick was made on a budget of Rs 82 crores. Sadly it was only able to fetch 48.33 crores.

6. Bombay Velvet
Directed by revered director Anurag Kashyap, Bombay Velvet was made on a big budget of Rs.120 crores. With such a huge budget, a respected director, and marvelous actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, this flick created a massive hype that it couldn’t meet. As a result, it could only generate a bad amount of Rs 43.1 crores.

7. Kalank
A huge success anticipated with the release of Kalank turned out to be a huge failure. This flick was one of the most talked movies of 2019 as many striking faces from Bollywood were a part of it, like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, and Sanjay Dutt. But unfortunately, this muti-starrer epic Kalank only made Rs. 66.03 crores after investing around Rs 180 crores in its production.

8. Saawariya
Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor‘s debut film Saawariya tanked at the box office. Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed the film that was made on a budget of INR 40 crores. Saawariya ended up earning INR 18.48 crores at the box office.

9. Shaandaar
Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Pankaj Kapoor’s starer film Shaandaar was one of the biggest flops in 2015. With such a big starcast, Shaandaar was the most anticipated film of 2015. Shaandaar was made on a budget of INR 69 crores. It made a gross collection of INR 39.48 crores.
