Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's Brahmastra is holding steady at the box office on the weekdays. According to early estimates, the movie has collected in the range of Rs. 10.35 to 11.35 crores on Wednesday, taking the six-day total collection to around Rs. 161 crores. The film will close its opening week at collections of Rs. 170 crores, which is the highest for a Bollywood film in pandemic times.

The film is faring exceptionally well in the three national chains - PVR, INOX, and CINEPOLIS - whereas the mass belts are showing bigger than usual drops across the board.  Despite the drops on weekdays, the overall week one total of Brahmastra will be strong, primarily due to the exceptional run in the opening weekend. Brahmastra is faring like a Hollywood film, which is doing well on weekends but dropping consistently on weekdays.

Given the trend so far, the 2nd-weekend jump is expected to show a big jump. Brahmastra will be targeting a weekend of at least Rs. 35 crores, and thereby enter the Rs. 200 crore club in merely 10 days. The word of mouth is mixed and if the talk was positive, Rs. 300 crore lifetime would have been a cakewalk, given the pre-release hype and anticipation.

Of the Rs. 161 crore, Brahmastra has clocked around Rs. 142 crores in Hindi and another Rs. 19 crores from South Indian dubbed versions. It’s the trend in the 2nd weekend that will decide the lifetime collections of Brahmastra.
