Doesn’t matter whether you are a Shah Rukh Khan fan or not, you just couldn’t deny that this man has achieved what others could only dream of. It is quite amazing what this man has achieved over the years with his hard work and dedication.
Though he is famous to be known as a superstar, the recent past has not been kind to him. With the changing taste of the audience, SRK failed to create an impact in his last movie – Zero. After Zero’s debacle at the box office, SRK wasn’t seen in the films for four long years.
And, now, after the four long year break, SRK is returning with not one, not two, but NINE new movies that would be released in the next 20 months.
Here’s a list of all of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movies, and their tentative release dates.
1. Lion (June 2022 | Main Lead)
As per the sources, Lion may be SRK’s first release after 4 years. Marking the Bollywood debut of Nayanthara, this movie is directed by Atlee and is expected to be released in June 2022.
2. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (1 July 2022 | Cameo)
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, the biographical drama, is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and ISRO aerospace engineer, who was falsely accused of espionage. Though R. Madhavan is in the lead role, SRK will make a cameo appearance in the movie. This movie is expected to be released on 1 Jul 2022.
3. Laal Singh Chaddha (11 August 2022 | Cameo)
Produced by Aamir Khan, Laal Singh Chaddha is a comedy-drama film directed by Advait Chandan. Though Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan are in the lead role, Shah Rukh Khan will make a cameo appearance in the movie. It will be released on 11 August 2022.
4. Brahmãstra (9 September 2022 | Cameo)
Another movie, where Shah Rukh Khan will be making a cameo appearance. Brahmãstra is a fantasy adventure film written and directed by Ayan Mukerji, and produced by Karan Johar. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Amitabh Bachchan in prominent roles. It is set to be released on 9 September 2022.
5. Operation Khukri (October 2022 | Main Lead)
Based on Operation Khukri – the real-life mission carried out by the Indian Army and Air force, Operation Khukri is a war drama. It is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, who has also directed successful movies like Lagaan and Swades. With SRK in the lead role, The movie will tentatively release on 2 October 2022.
6. Karan Johar’s Untitled Action Romantic (TBD | Main Lead)
As per the Indiatimes, Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan are teaming once again for an action romantic movie. Though the project is yet to be titled, it is expected to release in the coming year. As per the rumors, we may be able to see Priyanka Chopra alongside King Khan in the untitled project.
7. Pathaan (25 January 2023 | Main Lead)
Written & Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan is an action thriller. Pathaan is a part of YRF’s Spy Universe also feat Salmaan Khan’s Tiger. Along with Shah Rukh Khan, the film stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and Dimple Kapadia. It is set to release on 25 January 2023.
8. Tiger 3 (Eid 2023 | Cameo)
While Tiger 3 is the third film in Salman Khan’s Tiger series, the movie will star Katrina Kaif opposite Salman Khan. It will be released on Eid in 2023. SRK will be seen in a cameo role in Pathaan as Pathaan and Tiger 3 are a part of Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe.
9. Dunki (22 December 2023 | Main Lead)
Rajkumar Hirani’s comedy, Dunki will star Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu in the lead role. It will be released on 22 December 2023.
