Recently, Alia and Jr NTR were promoting their upcoming movies. During an interview with Karan Johar, Alia shared a sweet story about how they chose Raha's name.
She said that when she was pregnant, she and Ranbir visited Jr NTR's house in Hyderabad. They were there to promote their movie Brahmastra: Part 1, and Jr NTR had invited them over for dinner. During that evening, they talked about possible baby names. Jr NTR really liked the name "Raha" and even said a prayer that they would choose it if they had a daughter.
Alia also explained that Raha's name was actually chosen by her grandmother, Neetu Kapoor. The name has beautiful meanings in different languages. In Swahili, it means "joy", in Sanskrit, it means "clan", and in Bengali, it means "rest, comfort, and relief". In Arabic, it means "peace, happiness, freedom, and bliss".
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married in a private ceremony in April 2022. They had their daughter, Raha, on November 6th of the same year.
